0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
This hand went down during this years WSOP. Game is 9-handed.
Hero(~22k) has 9865ds red
UTG limps a "pro" makes it 300 in EP, hero calls $300 in MP, SB Nit makes it $1400. UTG folds pro and Hero call.
Flop($4400): 9 8 6
SB(covers) bets $3000 Pro folds. Hero?
Villain has only shown premium AA in four other similar situations.
Villain's bet means he connected somewhat with flop and will not fold until board is even scarier for his hand.
Thoughts?

Call and see what happens.
You have too much hand to fold in this situation and too little hand to raise, this combined with your position = call.

Re: 0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
Yeah, agreed with the above. Seems pretty clear cut to me. AA+clubs is obviously his most likely hand although even if we put him on AA 100%, we obviously can't know his other two sidecards. Would be interested to know how long you've played with him though in the period of time where he's shown premium AA 4 times.

Re: 0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
Before we know what the turn is, let's discuss our plan. I think most everybody puts villian on aces and clubs and two MtG cards.
I think we play this for the best hand, and if his MtG cards are T7, well, we've got six outs. So if the turn isn't an ace or a club (or a king?) we shove if he bets and bet if he checks? If it's his bingo card, he bets, he wins.
Sound good?
Regards, Lee

Anyone likes 3bet pre?
3 bet pre is a good option and I would have an increase frequency in late position. Current logic I have no fold equity vs UTG limp or Pro and at least 1/2 the time it will be 4-5 handed and I'll be out of position.
Would be interested to know how long you've played with him though in the period of time where he's shown premium AA 4 times.
-about 70 hrs of live.
I really posted this hand because I was confused with the discussion of the other top two hand in this game(and made a prop bet which I won thanks ). I think flipping here should be more of an option.
I called. Plan- use sick tell and raise or bet any non club 9 or less (probably a non club k too)
Turn(pot $10400)J
waitress spills drink wrecks tell
villain bets $6800

Re: 0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
no one likes shoving flop here? I feel like a lot of time this is an AAxx making a c-bet hoping no one does anything, and forcing the hand out of the pot is a good thing before it sees a turn card.
I mean if your calling its to try to get in good against Aces and the nut flush draw.

Re: 0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
Very difficult to get it in ahead if we shove flop. 3betting pre is obviously perfectly acceptable and can be mixed up. The J hits our range really hard, so I think I would probably just fold at this point.

Re: 0/100 @ Bellagio, Top Three otf, 220bb deep
I understand this is not the best turn or action. I would prefer he check flop or turn or that I flopped a straight+. I don't mind a call or raise but people who fold turn should consider folding flop. Is a 1% edge is good enough?
Flop $4400 pot $17600 behind - breakeven 44.5%
| Hand | Pot equity | Wins | Ties |
|---|
| 9d8d6h5h | 51.88% | 120,205 | 2,084 | | AA[k-8][k-8]:cc | 48.12% | 111,411 | 2,084 |
Turn $10400 pot $14600 behind- breakeven 36.9%
| Hand | Pot equity | Wins | Ties |
|---|
| 9d8d6h5h | 49.69% | 5,301 | 132 | | AA[k-8][k-8]:cc | 50.31% | 5,367 | 132 |
Making his other 2 cards k-9 (which I think is more realistic) surprisingly increases our equity 2% in each simulation.
