US gov is just retarded and trying to rip its citizen's right of freedom. So pathetic that Bush gov is trying to enforce many stupid laws before they lose control in the congress. Fxxx off Bush, you're a loser.

I'm as big a fan of the NFL as anyone and I'd gladly boycott them. In fact, I think I will. I'm putting in my fantasy lineups until the end of the season and then I'm done.

Re: Treasury Finalized UIGEA Regs

Can someone explain to me how this legislation would change anything? Haven't the UIGEA rules essentially been in effect ever since it was passed in 2006? All the US poker sites have already implemented circumvention measures, so I don't see how "finalizing" the UIGEA would actually change anything.

I'm not saying it's a good thing, but I don't see how it matters one way or another.

The UIGEA rules have not been in effect. The impacts you've seen have been based on the threat of the rules, perception of casual players, and banks taking whatever first steps they anticipated they needed to. If the actual rules are implemented we don't know what the effects will be. I wouldn't bet on them being positive.

So just because you get no utility from being engaged in sports via its social aspects, thrill of uncertainty, or escapist diversion it doesn't make sense that other people do?

You watch movies? Go to bars? Surely you benefit from spending time on 2p2 playing poker for reasons other than income by things such as intellectual challenge and social interaction?

People do different things with their leisure time.

/off topic

If the rules are implemented on banks will this just happen within the system or will there be big announcements, press releases, and fanfare?

No it is not an executive order. It is regulations drafted to enforce a law passed by congress.

I think you should have gotten it yesterday, though it's possible some are going out today. If you don't get it today, after checking your junk mail folder, you can write to PPA at email@pokerplayersalliance.org to have them update your email address. Or, go to to www.pokerplayersalliance.org and update your information.
