In person i've only seen the Uconn women practice, not any games, but seeing them live and what they do on TV they really do play at a level far beyond every other D1 team except for Stanford. In practice they play a lot against the men, in fact there are a handful of men on campus who proudly say they are on the womens basketball team, so i wouldn't underestimate them against a random club team.

I played in an adult league with a couple of ex UCONN womans team members. One was one of those twins forget her name. But put it this way they were awful. Like so bad the were invisible on the court bad. When I found out who they were I couldnt believe it

The men would drive to the basket and score on a layup or dunk nearly every time.

The women would be forced to take guarded perimeter shots more or less the entire game. Even if we assume a good % shooting team, consider they'll rarely be open, will be shorter than the men, won't have any options to drive to the basket and are shooting against a team which can pretty much get a layup every time.

This assumes we aren't grabbing random fatasses off the street, but a D1 club team which practices very regularly and travels to other schools to play teams.

At my old school I used to play 1 on 1 with a girl who had 2 inches on me and was varsity all through HS and D1 club all through college. I have played probably less than 15 hours of basketball in my life outside of HS gym class. Maybe even far less than that. I have no concept of how to shoot or do anything really. Now I'll admit I lost because I just don't know how to get the ball in the basket. I've just never played basketball, period.

I'm convinced if I spent a few days learning just how to execute a layup I would have beat her nearly 100% of the time. Without fouling she didn't have a shot at keeping me from driving to the basket at any point, and she couldn't get to the basket on me unless I did something ******ed in trying to steal the ball... forcing her to take shots from outside the entire time. And I suck and am not a good athlete in any sport which requires any sort of coordination. I'm truly terrible.

You probably played for one of the Valley sisters who i dont think were never meaningful players on one of the Undefeated Uconn teams. If u played with morgan valley, she is overweight, was overweight in college and i imagine terribly out of shape offseason and not good at basketball. Ashley valley i think is skinnier but ya, offseason also no good.

That's the problem with blowouts. The key is to keep the lead around 10-12 all game. Comfortable, but close enough for stat-padding.

I'm optimistic that this is going to end up being a much better outside shooting team than the last few years. Not that it would really be possible to be worse than last year.
