This seattle/Atlanta schedule is perfectly timed. Injured/weaker teams that our 2nd string players can still beat. Hope to see tulo/JD back by the end of the Atlanta series

Bunting is a great way to kill a rally. It's so statistically bad especially considering how bad most players are at bunting it's unreal.

I'd be interested to see how Carrera is at a bunter, he seems to actually be a guy that it might make sense for him to bunt although I agree bunting is absolutely awful 99% of the time.

lol at JoeyBats

-We are getting thumped in the Atlanta series
-We are getting thumped in the game
-JoeyBats is minus WAR and batting around .200, and he thinks a big bat flip and staredown with the pitcher is a cool things to do.

What a *****..

if Gibby had balls he would bench him.

For bunting to actually be +ev, I think you need all of the following to be true.

- scoring 1 run is at a premium
- the batter is a below average hitter
- the batter is an above average bunter
- there are no outs
- the base runner is of at least average speed
- the following hitters are decent hitters

Asking to bunt a hitter with a decent track record (Travis), who has shown no ability to be a good bunter, seems like it will always be a bad idea. Especially since the weakest hitters in the lineup follow him.

The only guy on the Jays that I know for sure is a good bunter (and has a history of being a below average hitter) is Carrera and I think Goins can bunt decently too. An ex NL pitcher like Happ or maybe Estrada is probably a good choice to bunt in an interleague game.

The stats show that successful bunts are -EV, just think how bad bunting is once you factor in the failed attempts.

I get it, I'd be interested to see Carrera's ball in play percentage for bunting. Seems like it would be quite a bit higher than average.

Sac* bunts. Carrera bunting for a hit isn't necessarily a blanket -ev play, for example, because he's a good bunter and not a good hitter, and is fast enough to leg out some singles. The point you're making is, by and large, correct, don't get me wrong.

5. Coghlan
6. Barney
7. Goins
8. Maille

And somehow 6 runs lol.

Wtf Ceciliani has his first good game probably ever and injures himself hitting a home run?

If someone wanted to bet on Maille and Stroman hitting back to back home runs tonight, what would fair odds have been?

I get being careful with Tulo and Josh in their return off the DL, but instead of playing both on Friday night and then sitting both on Saturday, why not play Josh on Friday and then sit him Saturday, and then vice-versa for Tulo? Same result but a more balanced line-up

5 straight..closing in on .500

This team has shown some great fight and character through all the injuries to start to year. And now that we're getting healthy hopefully we can put a charge together
