Roy should have told him to stay in Cali w/ the wear twins.

Roy's MO is to guard the high percentage shots, has been for years. Direct from the coaches clinic Roy said "We teach to guard the high percentage shots fiercely, lower percentage shots from the outside is what we like the opposition to have."
Thats a great theory, but my rebuttal to that is....the past few generations have been completely reared on the 3 point shot, and in general players have turned the college three in to a much high percentage shot than 10 years ago. Roy's thinking is very antiquated in my opinion.

I was at 2 practices, he looked like garbage, then again so did Zeller.

My humble way of saying I obviously don't see more than Roy Williams does on a daily business so he must look like the answer in practice that we all never see in games.

And yeah Dean is God of bball, but Roy needs to drop the archaic **** he adopted from him that pure #s have proven wrong since Dean came up with his philosophy and retired. Hence, saving TO's when KU is going on a 48-12 run in the God damn FF and the UK game 1H last year, Gtown with 5 minutes left.

I realize it's one game but:

Drew......29 min...0-3 FG...0-1 3FG...4-8 FT...2 Assists...2 TOs...0 Steals...4 points

Marshall...11 min...4-5 FG...1-1 3FG...1-2 FT...3 Assists...2 TOs...2 Steals...10 points

Really says it all.

I do think Lipscomb is a really good opening game. Ranked #100 in KenPom so it's not like they totally suck. Also, a veteran team so it was a nice opening test.

Same as usual with LD2. The stuff that doesn't even show up in the box score is even more aggrevating at him running this offense. How many times does he make the wrong read of shoot it vs pass it, pass it down low vs kick it to the 3, take the layup vs dump it off to a big? I'm depressed to see him as the PG of my team

Is it possible we are going to sustain this type of trey bomb %?

Would be so nice.

Good to see solid perimeter offense and defense after 2 games. Glad Graves effed up. Now my fear of McDonald transferring after the year from lack of PT looks gone, and we're better to top it off. He was a terrible defender.

How good is this team with a competent 1.

We have a competent 1. Roy's stubborness is something we just have to put up with. Hopefully he sees the light sooner than later with Marshall vs Drew.

This entire team minus Larry Drew

Meh, this thread is too hard on Drew sometimes. I'm not that big on him either but he had a decent first half.

Barnes is sick ldo but Leslie McDonald looks much, much improved. If he breaks out, that second unit becomes really sick.

Need to ratchet up the D which we've done so far this half.

to touch on that Graves comment a bit more...

when i think of this team the first thing that comes to mind is "speed". that wouldn't be the case if Graves were getting 25 minutes a game.

LD2 looking solid. Showing some toughness too bouncing up from the hard foul in the lane.
