are you trying to blame this loss on reffing

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

obviously we should have beaten them despite the refs but the refs were so ****ing bad in the 2nd half it was obscene. we got called for 11 fouls in 13 duke possessions at one point in the 2nd half. that's ****ing obscene. duke is a ****ing 3 point shooting team and got 26 free throws, 1 for every 2 point shot they took.

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

lol at bitching about fts. esp when we were mostly sending ****ty ft shooters to the line. you could see the starters let up when they got up ~12. ****ed around and missed a bunch of fts. random ass turnovers. how many field goals did we make in the last 3 minutes? we choked, no excuses

you need to apply to the FBI with those detective skills of yours.

the curry walk and 3-bomb. the critical push in Zeller's back where he was about to secure the game winning rebound but instead he is shoved four feet forward and the ball tips off his hands into the basket.

UNC leads the nation in not giving up FTs (something like 12.5 / game) and dook attempts 36.

the worst part is we jump all over them at the beginning of the 2nd half and are about to blow open the game ... k calls that TO and my knowledgeable friend goes ... "watch this ... k is about to tard this game up ... it is about to become a big east game and they are going to live at the line." yep, like a hollywood script we've all seen before.

i've seen it so many times i'm just numb to it now. i don't even consider this game a loss. if the reffing breaks even we win by 8 or 9. what rubs me the wrong way is the game was in the Dome so you'd think it break our way a bit.

i'm more curious to see what happens when k leaves at this point in regards to the shade.

this team is still going to be defined by march. if they get to the F4 they have met expectations ... if they don't, they didn't realize their expectation.

So apparently Rivers flicked off the crowd at the end, some bitch manager ran up to the risers yelling "fk u mother****ers" and Thornton of all scrubs went posing in front of the student section. And people say everybody hates dook bc they're privelaged white kids

God damn what an infuriating loss. Dominated the entire game minus 2:30

I don't know what happened to PJ. He had the purest looking shot on the team early in the season. Now he can barely hit a wide open corner 3 25% of the time.

If anything, that was a preview of a beatdown of dook in durham. Laughable bigs as usual from them, a one man show who had a career night, and all they have going for them is to just pray that they run like God from deep and that Roy remains to big of an idiot to learn how to defend it.

I'll be amazed if we even get back to the elite 8 with the way we're playing overall. Elite teams don't get beat by 30 on an opponents court, and let a completely inferior beat them on their own court in a rivalry game.

I hate Calipari as much as anybody, but I wish Roy would go to a defensive coaches clinic from him. His teams are always so suffocatingly hard to score on

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

I was leaving the stadium last night and some ****er in a limo in DooK gear gets in a limo, gets out of a limo surrounded by like 2000 UNC fans and says something like "hows rivers' dick taste." If there was beer at the game or if more people had drink cups that car would have been torn to bits.

Switching to football for a moment, Larry Fedora is gonna be such a solid hire for us. Seems like a coach that kids would just feed off all the energy and love to play for. Plus he assembled a better staff in 1 month than Butch did in 4 years.

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

I just saw that P.J. is out for the UVa game. We are getting to be a very thin team. Who knows though ... maybe Stilman is able to give us better minutes at the moment (especially with P.J. playing with discomfort recently).

Per Kenpom, UVa is the 7th ranked Defense and is 339th in Tempo. This is going to be one helluva cbb game tomorrow afternoon.

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

ill be in phase 1 tomorrow for the game. should be exciting, we need to bounce back. hairston, honestly, hasn't brought much since the first 5 games this year although we could definitely use his minutes if we get into foul trouble. essentially 6 deep now with mcadoo as 6th is pretty bad. good thing uva plays slow. hopefully we come back with a vengenance tomorrow.

Re: TAR HEEL Basketball: Bow to the Greatness

This is going to be a huge test for Roy and the team. Tony Bennett is in year 3 at UVa and his system is taking root. Out of all the recent new ACC HC hires Bennett is the best imo ... he is going to take UVa to heights they haven't seen in years (their last S16 was 1995 for crying out loud). Don't underestimate how big of a game this is going to be for UVa (and, especially, Bennett).
