I was sitting in the CF bleachers a few rows up from the Ankiel crash-- the one area of the field I was obstructed from seeing... glad it wasn't that bad... thought it would be watching the Card players run out to the warning track
Wow kudos to Tony taking Boggs out with the lead in the top of the 5th. I mean, the guy was obviously laboring, but how many managers (including him maybe) just ride it out for meaningless chances at W's next to their name.
I picked up Molina a couple weeks ago and have been calling him "Clutch Yadi" whenever I see him get a hit...I only have you guys to blame for this lol
Yeah he crunched the I in "BIG". They were comparing it to McGwire hitting one off the Post Dispatch sign in old Busch and then putting the band-aid over it for the rest of the year. I think it was in 98.
If you've got MLB.TV, check out the Cubs broadcast of that Pujols homer in the first. It's hilarious.
On the 1-1 pitch.
"Now like we were saying earlier before the game, Occasionally you will see Pujols admiring a home run, but it's usually when he hits one..." *BOOM* "...like that."
And then over on the Cardinals broadcast they showed the score graphic.
