to be fair, I posted before the cubs had taken the lead and was making a deprecating joke about the cubs. Maybe not the best time though, so my bad.

Watching my newly obtained mlb.tv package tonight and I decided to switch over to the mets broadcast for awhile. Yadi comes up for his first AB and they were bascially gushing over him, calling him the best catcher in baseball, praising his ability to call a game, greatly improved offense over the last couple years etc.

It's nice to see Clutch is getting his props.

Best catcher in baseball? If you're talking about just defensively, maybe.

Meanwhile, the Mets walk in 2 runs with 2 outs to tie the game. Barden comes up and swings at the first pitch and grounds out. Fail.

If you're talking just defense, it's definitely. All-around, he's one of the best, and you can make an argument for him being the best now that he hits .300 to go w/ that defense.

Only if you're leaving Mauer off the list because he's missing the first month of the season. Otherwise its not particularly close.

But yeah, I <3 Yadi a lot.

Bump for a really good week so far. Getting wins with Welle/Pinata now while we've got the rotation pretty well set for the Cubs this weekend is looking mighty good. Winning today and sweeping the Mets--even in April--would be huge.

This offense is a monster!

Now we gotta figure out how to beat the cubs.

Hey let's get pumped up in here! Keep this win streak rolling all through the weekend and beat up some baby bears!

Just another big win, no big deal.

The offense has been held to 2 runs twice this year. And Cards happen to win both games. Every other game we've scored at least 4. All while missing Glaus, our 2nd or 3rd RBI man on the team.

Can't wait for interleague play when we get to drop Duncan in the DH hole. Makes for an extremely dangerous lineup top to bottom.

You know what is really fun?

Actually winning 1 run games.

Seriously. I'm not used to this. This is fun.

1. Schumaker
2. Ankiel
3. Pujols
4. Ludwick
5. Glaus
6. Duncan
7. Molina
8. Greene

Yeah, that will work just fine for me.

You need a 9th, its the AL.

Might I suggest Colby?

LOL I can't believe I did that.

To make it simple I'll put Rasmus 8th and Greene 9th.

I was thinkin something like:

1. Schumaker
2. Rasmus
3. Pujols
4. Ludwick
5. Glaus
6. Molina
7. Ankiel
8. Duncan
9. Greene

I think having Skip and Rasmus batting 1&2 is gonna get Pujols close to 200 RBIs this year.

Obv. trying to predict a TLR lineup is an exercise in futility.

Dear God that shot was sick. Disgusting.

I'm starting to think that this Pujols fellow is going to turn out to be a pretty decent ball player.

Was at the game again today, so awesome. So far I've attended 3 games. Albert has 4 HRs in those games, including 2 GSs. We've won all 3 by a combined 21 runs. I run good.

Damn what a blast that was. The idiot talking heads on ESPN keep asking "WHY PITCH TO HIM?!??" and fail to notice the bases were loaded. I wonder how good someone has to be to make it +EV to walk in a run instead of pitching to him.

I remember that Bonds was one of the only ones they ever did this to. Before long, Albert might be walking to first base at the expense of a run. It would probably depend on the opposing team and whether or not they have the lead and how big it is at the time of the AB.
