Start it anyway. There could be hundreds, nay, THOUSANDS of lurking pirates fans here just looking for a support group.

WTF at Thurston trying to take third in the 9th. Has he ever ran the bases before, or was tonight his first time?

Funny what happens when your ownership abandons you for 20 years.

This new guy Carpenter we picked up seems to throw the baseball pretty well.

You know Carp is working when he throws one curve that drops right on the corner of the zone and leaves the batter looking. Then he drops another thats down in the dirt and the batter misses it by a foot.

Was at the game today, what a bomb by Pujols on the first pitch from Oswalt for the grand slam.

I'm sick of Oswalt's ****. He never tries to strike batters out anymore, especially while in a big jam. He just stubbornly keeps throwing his same crappy 2-seam fastball inside and hopes for a groundout. Pujols and myself knew that pitch was coming and it shows in how he opened up early and just got his hands out and mashed it.

Oswalt used to strike batters out, now he pitches to contact, even where there is trouble on the basepaths. This team is God-awful joke and I'm waiting for Drayton to kill himself.

considering Oswalt's dominance of the Cards, I find this post odd

happy that TLR took out Wainwright yesterday even though he was looking good through 5
most managers would not have played it that way IMO

Kyle Lohse imo. 3 Hit CG Shutout. Swept the Astros. Awesome Pitching all Weekend. Good Offense. Sweet start.

We def can't complain about anything so far!

Lohse! On my fantasy team, boom baby. If we can pitch like this all year, we will DOMINATE.

fun week 1

i'll go out on a limb and say that if the Cards bat over .300 on the year, they'll make the playoffs

I was at this game, so much fun. This post seems crazy to me though.. Wainwright had thrown 95 pitches or whatever, was consistently in trouble and its his second start if the season. All of us at the time were absolutely positive he was done after 5 (after 3 we were just praying he'd get through that tbh, he threw ~80 in the first 3).

And a sweep of the 'Stros is a great way to start the season.

I overpaid in a trade for Chris Carpenter today...

Someone guarantee me that he'll win the Cy Young so I can feel better about it.

And since I already have Pujols and Wainwright apparently I'm heavily invested in the Cards doing well this year.

But Carpenter looked SOOOOO good the other day! Hope I'm not a fantasy baseball fish.
