It's nobody's fault. Seattle can't not pay him, but you CAN'T keep a defense full of studs when you are about to pay one position 20x more than they are currently being paid.
IMO you can win the super bowl 2 ways… Get a good QB on the cheap and field a STUD defense (like seattle did and SF was almost able to do) or have the ELITE of the ELITE QBs and he can carry you there despite mediocre surroundings.
Seattle fans don't understand the world the rest of the league lives in… the salary cap world. You are paying a very good QB next to nothing and is the best value in the NFL. The problem is when he is paid like an ELITE QB and he isn't in the Rodgers/Brady/Peyton camp, well then you aren't going to win super bowls.
You should be thrilled you won a super bowl and have a good chance at another, but it's just extreme homerism to think you are going to pay russell and be able to keep the ridiculous defense you have now.
For the record, I'm not saying you CAN'T win another super bowl but you won't continue being the clear front runner like the past 2 years.
