We went through 3 of the worst HCs of all time. But at that time we had good picks and have used them. Our D is stacked especially in the front 7. Our OL is now stacked. And now we have a good QB. Our receivers aren't bad either. We also have 14 picks in this draft. Goldson is the only real player of note that's a free agent.
Gore should be relatively easy to replace. I hope we keep Goldson and I hope Alex goes somewhere where he can succeed. I hope we fix some of our special teams issues this offseason through the draft (kicker and returner).
Our drafting has been outstanding at times. All of our PB level players other than Justin have been drafted in house and over the last couple of seasons. We are young and we have a large window. Here's hoping to running well in the variance fest.
we still have 2 more years of CK at a discounted price if we want to do it. we have guys who have been willing to restructure their deals repeatedly for other players. i have a feeling smith, rogers, and a couple of other big contracts will be gone by 2014. i think will be fine. 2014 will be a big year for getting guys resigned (Iupati, Davis, CK, Crab)--but I think will have the deals done earlier. i don't think CK will get brady/manning money but like 12 million a year type which is damn good.
Two weeks to avoid media coverage and worry about the TE, the deep ball, how Boldin has always caused problems, someone cheapshotting Kaep, and whether there will be another bull**** chop block call that negates a TD.
Coverage during the leadup will literally be unbearable.
Since I'm old, as a fan, is it better seeing a big win and then undergoing a drought or not ever seeing a big win? SB XVI was my freshman year in HS, so I got the tail end of the Plunkett era, the glory years, then a lot of **** before this.
Niners in the SB again is blowing my mind right now. Despite all that dynasty going on when I was a kid, there was so much suffering for so long since then. Un-****ing-believable.
Was on a Youtube memory lane stroll last night when I saw this end zone shot of Steve Young's run against the Vikings that shows he nearly fumbled - had never seen that before and I must have watched this run a few hundred times over the years.
Also, Lon Simmons is the GOAT play by play guy AINEC. Makes me sad to think how Robinson would have called it but the thought of Starkey verbally ****ting on it makes me physically ill.
