A fumble at the Saints two, a lucky ass tip as they niners are about to score again, and a punt fumble that wouldn't land in bounds if you tried that again 1,000 times. I don't think I've ever seen one team get so lucky over the course of a game.

Looking at the rest of the schedule a 9-7 year is the most optimistic outcome for which the Niners can hope. That assumes winning a road game where they figure to be a dog, like in KC or Carolina, plus winning their remaining division games and winning at Wembley before the bye week.

In theory they could start 0-5, play out the above scenario and still win nine games. Of the next three games, they may only be favored against Philly. Both the Packers and Chargers are on the road late in the season. Those look like losses. It's too bad that a team that was 2-6 on the road last year only has seven games at home. That may be the factor that keeps them out of the playoffs if they can't handle Denver in England.

besides the obvious (gore, davis, omgsmith, WILLIS) i was very impressed with the offensive line, and they're still down two starters. in three seasons this is obv gonna be the goat o-line.
