I agree. The problem is going to be having three goalies and only two spots. I mean I guess they could send Boucher to the minors and let Emery back up Leighton if (probably until) he fizzles out, but I don't know if he or Emery have two-way contracts or whatnot. I suppose they could also carry three goalies and scratch one before the games, but that seems pretty inefficient. Still, it's a good problem to have.

yea agreed, my bigest gripe is them scoring goals. I figure whoever the hot goalie is will be out there come playoff time. Cant get there if you're scoring under 2 goals a game. glad to see them lighting the lamp lately.

My biggest problem was the discipline over the last two seasons, they spent half the ****ing game in the box. It's starting to look more and more like Stevens was their friend and not their coach, and he did not hold them accountable one bit for all the stupid **** they would do during the game, and the perfect example is game 6 against Pittsburgh last year after we had the 3-0 lead. That hasn't been much of a problem at all of late with Laviolette, and it's really starting to show how much of a difference that was really making.

yea no doubt. Stevens and laviolete couldn not be any more differnt when it comes to philosophy. They simply do it in different ways, i hope they can continue this. Speaking of my location ... Ever since lav was hired he began to give jvr more ice time and shuffling him more on different lines, and i feel its really helped him. Hes got so much ability, and commands so much attention on the ice that i think they need to play his as much as possible. He impresses me.

Yeah I like the way he has gone about the lines as well. I think when Gagne, Powe and Betts were out it really showed how much we needed those three guys. Gagne seems to have developed excellent chemistry with Giroux over the past two years, and the same with Richards so I really like those three as the top line. Carter-Hartnell-Briere has been working out pretty nicely, not as much for Carter but Briere is making plays all over the ****ing place. Then the third line with Powe-Asham-JVR really shows how deep the Flyers are at forward. I really like Powe for the way he goes 150% every shift and is fast as ****. But I agree that they should have been getting more ice time under Stevens, and JVR should have been seeing action on the PP, both of which Laviolette has implemented since he's got here. It's finally starting to get closer and closer to the team that it should have been all along, and like I said earlier a #4 or #5 seed should be quite possible. Hopefully it's a #4 for home ice in round 1.

yea as of right now they are 4 points out of 5th, but 4th is like 10 points away i think. They will need to go on a big streak.

Yea they're only 3 points out of 6th with a game in hand on the Rangers. They're 4 points out of 5th both with the same amount of games as Boston. 4th looks more and more like a possibility because Pittsburgh is coming down to earth a little bit, and with a couple more wins and Pittsburgh losses, that could easily be cut in half. Plus we play them twice more which gives us a chance to cut into it.

Edit: we also have two games in hand on the Penguins.

That second period was nice. They could have done without giving up so much in the third, but I guess that will give them something to work on for the next practice. It probably didn't help that Hartnell and Syvret were hurt, but it's whatever. Glad to see we're finally scoring goals, we need to keep getting points against teams that we should beat.

Also, as of right now we're 7th in the conference and 8 points behind Pittsburgh for #4 with two games in hand. I like where this is going.

The problem with Ovechkin is that he can't get any uglier.
