Wouldn't be a terrible outcome. Practice squad players make decent bank.

#1 Dual Threat QB from 2018 Phil Jurkovec has committed to ND--highest rated QB commit since Clausen.

Talk about a (current) embarrassment of riches at QB: Kizer, Zaire, Wimbush (all amazing/on campus right now), Ian Book coming in this summer (underrated, but the IrishSportsDaily guys are all high on him), 4 star Avery Davis committed for 2017, and now this monster for 2018. Looks good so far, but keeping that much talent happy is a daunting task. In other words, some transfer drama wouldn't be completely unexpected in the next few years.

Guessing that commitment is also tied to Sanford. Might need to keep Sanford to hang onto Jurkovec.

What rising star OC stays in one place for 3 seasons?

Sanford is likely a HC in the MAC this time next year.

That's a downgrade iyam. OC at major program > head coach in MAC

I'd like to see him get some head coaching experience somewhere. Seems like a prerequisite if he is eventually going to follow Kelly as HC at ND.

Hold the phone. It's not like our offensive numbers were spectacular last year. I don't even know if we scored enough considering the talent on hand.

ND was 6th in offensive efficiency last year, and 3rd in the power five

...with a backup QB

Looks like we got 88th in red zone offense, which was kinda obvious

Surprised to see that the Ademilola twins from NJ (2018) committed to ND, pretty nice pickup.

Yup, and much needed.

Unfortunately ND has a long history of losing blue chip D-line prospects for sometimes bizarre reasons, so knock on wood that they still want to attend in Feb of 2018 and further knock on wood that they show up to school in June.

They are from the same high school as our QB in the wings, Brandon Wimbush.

Better than the Ross Twins were at basketball I hope.

I'm thinking a double commitment is a bit firmer than your average single serve verbal. To flip they'd have to both agree right?

So Michigan is back on the schedule already? Home and home in 2018 and 2019.

Michigan, USC, Stanford, and Florida State all in the same season. I dare someone to find a tougher schedule.

Which are we keeping warm for UCLA?

In seriousness, Ewell is the best D-Line prospect we've landed since the GOAT trio of Nix, Tuitt, and Aaron Lynch. Now we just need to hold on to them until signing day.

The class is turning out to be quite nice. I'd like to see another 2 elite OL (with Hiestand we've come to expect it), another solid DL, a LB, another CB and Safety, and another 2 WR. An elite RB would be nice but we have decent depth at the moment and Holmes is more than prepared to play RB. I think we ultimately take 23-24 guys.
