Brian Kelly is still garbage but Aaron Banks is a phenomenal OL commitment today:

Kid is 6'7" and 315 lbs.

Amazingly our class is still like 6th best in the country.

Yes but now Kelly has to do something with them.

Looking strong vs. #1 Villanova through one half.

Savvy Jack seems to have hitched his wagon to BK. I suspect the former is planning to retire soon anyway.

What kind of record does BK need next year to continue at ND ?

I think 8 wins he's in real trouble. 9+ and Kelly Purgatory continues. 7 or less and he's gone.

Exit Torii Hunter Junior. A 23rd round pick in baseball, he's going to do that instead of a fifth year in South Bend.

Yeah that sucks, but it's hard to blame him, especially after getting his bell rung with the ridiculous no-targeting call.

Looks like ND is hiring Mike Elko from Wake Forest to be the new DC. A good hire, but it's a full year too late.

Good fit. Stealing our plays is redundant.

Pat Forde reporting that Al Borges will get an interview for OC this week.

Please let this happen.

Think about it Jack. You wouldn't have to write off all that unsold IKelly merchandise.

I was not even aware that it was National Sighing Day which says a lot about the state of the program.

No huge difference makers, but FWIW it was actually a decent close to finish with 21 considering a month ago we were hemorrhaging recruits, stagnant at 15, and didn't have a verbal since September.

The gab between us and the Bama/tOSUs of the world continues to grow.

It won't be as bad as 2007 but by the 2019 season we should be the slowest team on our schedule.

Okay do we want to pretend it's going to be different this year?

2017 can be branded as Happy Trails Brian Kelly or Welcome Kelly 2.0.

Looks like BK is blaming fundraising responsibilities on last season's failure. Ugh.

Decent win, but the frailties that will be exposed by the better teams on our schedule on show.

Solid win. Obv. UGA will be a measuring stick for how much the team has improved. Loved the run game, though I held my breath each time BW took off. Dude needs to slide and not lower his shoulder/take hits.

Yeah I can't believe this isn't standard after all of our qb injuries.

UGA will be a good test despite the built in excuse of their injured qb.

Georgia looked a lot better with Fromm as QB. Obviously the sample size was small but when Eason was in they couldn't get nothing going offensively against a subpar opponent. Notre Dame has to stop the run to win. Chubb gets all the pub but Michel had some really impressive runs. I'll be curious to see what the line eventually is when the oddsmakers get news of who is starting.

Sidenote... Nice to see two Philly guys (Adams and McGlinchey) have really good games against Temple.

Two points:

1) UGA sea of red was humiliating. This was a quasi-road game. Sad!

2) So, so tired of these close losses to elite teams. Let's have a clean break and hire Stoops.

YOu know it's over when you want Stoops to improve your record in big games.

The other line is getting Les Miles to maximize our offensive weapons.
