i see the mets put ollie on the DL and bringing up niese. Makes me think that they wanted to send him down and he refused, regardless of what they are saying publicly. good to show some stones omar
Yeah, realistically Niese is only going to be with the Mets until Redding gets back. He still has options left. Plus the added bonus of having him work a couple of weeks with Warthen.
I was assuming that's actually a good thing. Don't put words in my mouth. Fact is not a single person on this board can tell if Warthen is good at his job or not.
i cant think of a reason to say warthen is a good pitching coach at this point. I constantly see "if perez stays up, he gets to work with warthen" and such, but have no idea if that is good or not
Apparently, Warthen is spoken of quite highly. I am under the impression that he is a pretty good coach. He probably wouldn't have gotten this high up as a coach if he totally sucked.
As mentioned above, it is very hard to say how good or bad Warthen is doing. Though when you have the talent and it doesn't pan out, the coach is normally used as a scapegoat for the team's failings. I can see that happening this year for Warthen if the back end of the rotation continues to suck.
was at the game yesterday, man imagaine how much we're ripping the team if Santana gave up 2 runs, lol nice to win though, hopeuflly they get it togetehr for these 4 non santana starts coming up, haha
