nice to see krod throw 30+ pitches in a non save situation. also this team must be leading the league in walking opposing pitchers. shouldve watched true blood tonight instead.

good job out of livan though minus that first inning.

kind of pathetic that he's probably our #2 at this point [maybe nieve after a couple more starts, pelfrey's been all over this year and who knows if maine is ever coming back] when everyone thought he would be gone after the first month. he had a rough april but only really had 2 bad games in may/june (SF and other NYY game)

omar does seem to luckbox into these random pitchers a lot though. watch he ends up given livan like 3 years 30 mil after this year and he turns into oliver perez 2.

And the Phils won 2 straight. If they keep winning now we'll end up 10 b ack by the break and in 4th place. And to think the Cards just traded... Perez for DeRosa kills me. WTF is Minaya getting paid to do?

bringing k-rod in to throw 30 pitches in a loss is retarted regardless

I left in the 5th inning after the Mets put up 2. I decided that I wanted to go see Transformers 2. Reading this thread it sounds like the next 4 innings were miserable. No matter how miserable they were, they couldn't possible be worse than that ****ing movie, holy ****. I loved the 1st one and that movie actually made me angry that I missed a Mets loss to the Yankees.

Not only was K-Rod was brought into a non-save situation, he was brought in when his team was ****ing losing!

We lost to a pitcher with an ERA over 10. The only reason Jerry will stay until the end of the year is because we don't have a better alternate.

jerrys not going anywhere
omars not going anywhere

we are stuck with this the next few years

we'll hear jeff wilpon in the coming weeks, "Its not omars fault everyone got hurt, jerrys done a good job with the team he has, etc etc"

Disagree. If the Mets are serious about winning, they'll drop both of them if there's a better option out there.

IT ISNT Omar's fault everyone got hurt! It's also not JErrys fault the team blows either. but I want him fired anyway because hes an *******. If The Mets win the World Series at the end of the day Manuel will still be an ******* who plays favorites, randomly hates people for no reason, and bunts more than people did in the 1800's

while I agree its not omars fault for guys getting hurt. it is omars fault that if delgado, an outfielder, or wright got hurt or if murphey sucked then tatis would be playing everyday. and that castillo was this teams starting second baseman (and will be for 2 more years) instead of somebody like orlando hudson. it was his fault that he gave ollie that contract and was so reliant on pelfrey, who had a good 3/4 of a year and pitched a lot more innings than ever before, and maine who was coming off shoulder surgery and never pitched a full year. this team has had similar holes for years, last night down 1 and then 2 in the ninth we had nobody on the bench (and barely anybody in the lineup) who could hit a hr and tie the game, we never had pop on the bench other than castro who is now gone.

and jerry, and the organization, are ******* who puts players in a position to fail. look at how injuries are handled and murphey has been handled. how the **** was murph gonna succeed with this coaching? he was a 3b, who was asked to play 2b in fall ball, then asked to play LF despite never playing it before and not looking good at anypoint, to playing 1b in the majors despite minimal experience there and then whenever he seems to be coming around he gets benched for no reason. and why was he hitting leadoff lastngiht?!?!
i know players are out but jerry puts together some questionable lineups.

i fully expect this team to stay in it and make some sort of run despite bad management and coaching. i dont think its worth making a trade at this point because its gonna depend on getting reyes, delgado, and beltran back regardless of if aubrey huff can showoff some warning track power at citifield. but i have no faith in this team to make the playoffs and close strong in september regardless of their position because this roster fully healthy has never done that and im not sure they can at this point.
