This is outstanding. I think they make the post-season. Great starting pitching, an improving bullpen as guys come back, and a much better lineup than they had two weeks ago.

Gomez has 2 good years, sucked his entire career, sucks this year but because of today's world philosophy youre "proven" after 1 half good season, it takes 3 good years to me to prove youre even good. Gomez is terrible.

Gomez will be a major disappointment for the Mets, and the Brewers will get squat out of Flores and Wheeler

I've always wanted to fleece another team into Taking Wheeler/Flores but I feel the Brewers think THEY are fleecing US and they're right. Both teams are fleecing each other.

I am absolutely not insane. I guess I like our end of the deal the best because maybe it's possible Gomez truly is a good baseball player and he is just having a down year. But his career stat card really makes it look like he was PED'ing it up and then came off them. He has been around for a while now and completely sucked balls for many years until 2013. After a fantastic 2013 and 2014 he is slightly above average.

Wheeler has done nothing but give up runs in both the minors and the majors. "Baseball people" are in love with him because of his "stuff" Good pitchers typically have something called "success" in the minors. Wheeler is AceKing suited. Looks appealing, never wins. (I know fish poker players say that and it isn't true but I needed something)

Flores just blatantly sucks. But he is a "shortstop" who "hits homeruns" so zomg. This is the only appeal to him. The kid can't get on base, can't field, and has a TERRIBLE batting eye.


I guess I like our end of the deal better because as I said to open Gomez has a chance, but he is a hitter who just put on a Mets uniform so thats more guarantee he'll be terrible.

This is why trades often in general don't work out. The players being dealt away are more intimately known by the teams dealing them so those teams know all the negatives about said players better than anyone.

Why is it the GMs fault that word of a non-deal was leaked? How do you know it's his fault? How do you know he didn't make the deal and then the Brewers bailed?

We have no idea who's fault this is. Maybe Brewers had no idea Wheeler was injured. I would assume it's more on them if they agreed and then backed out.

If the Brewers bailed, that's fine. Hell, understandable if there was a red flag with Wheeler. But EVERYONE was reporting this, and he's shrugging it off like he was at dinner and missed a voice mail.

EVERYONE was reporting it because these idiots fall all over each other to try and get a scoop (so it can be "first reported by" Shecky Jerkman), and once one of them reports it then they all copy the report. That's not Sandy's fault, and if I was him I'd be plenty peeved that someone is leaking my confidential trade discussions.
