I guess you guys are thinking one level ahead of me, because if this was played at Giants Stadium instead of Dallas, I would have guessed it opened somewhere between -3 and -7. As it is in Dallas, I expected it to open between -2.5 and +2.5. Which is why I took +3.

Tampa really wasn't out of that game til late, the score was a little deceiving. Cowboys defense didn't look as good as I thought it would either.

That being said, I am by no means a professional sports bettor, just a recreational donk that does it on the side when he thinks he sees an edge. In terms of profit, I am a VERY small winner (cant stress very enough, less than 2% ROI.) I have no doubt the sharps in Vegas have this figured out, but like I said I'm a bit of a homer, and if I see a line I like I jump on it.

What did you expect the opening line to be?
I would have thought that Vegas would have the Giants as 2-4 point favorites on a neutral field, so I was expecting something along the lines of Giants +1 or a Pick 'em factoring in HFA.

Really expected +1 here on the Giants. +3 seems like great value. Maybe the line is moving due to all the Dallas homer action?

Weird. What do they know that we don't? Jerry Jones clearly plans on dropping the scoreboard on Eli.

lol i didnt realize anyone respected patrick crayton.

"It's starting to be that way because there's not as much chitter chatter between us and the Redskins and the Eagles," Crayton said. "There's respect there. We kind of don't respect the Giants. We respect them for what they do on the field, but I mean there's a lot of chitter chatter. It's like a little extra bulletin board material. We respect what they've done on the field. They're a good team. We know they're going to be ready to play. They're going to chatter. They're going to hit. They're going to make plays, just like we're going to do the same thing."

Mark Schlereth picking the Cowboys 24-20 on SC.

I dont normally watch 1st and 10, but wanted to see what the "analysts" were saying about this game. 2 of them picking the Cowboys to win. Plus that trivia guy (the couch potato guy with the chips) saying "arguably the two best teams in the NFC East". LOL. (Yes, I know it's scripted, but the fact that some writer would put that on the teleprompter is still hilarious.) I think I may be starting to understand why the line opened up where it did: Cowboys homerism.

Not that I was particularly surprised to begin with, but it did open up at one end of the spectrum of what I expected as opposed to the middle of that spectrum. I didnt think it was too weird, but I definately thought it was in my favor.

It really may be as simple as America's team getting too much .

I wish they'd bring in Hedgecock more often when Jacobs is at tailback. I think he runs much better following a lead blocker, just a nasty tandem comin' at you, than trying to pick the right hole solo. Is there an obvious reason they don't use Hedgecock with Jacobs more often?

hedgecock is terrible in the passing game, and studies have shown that the giants running game really isn't better with hedgecock on the field.

xpost from the nfc east thread:

offensive line gave eli so much time tonight and picked up a ton of blitzes. well done.

also huuuge props to bradshaw with his blocks. he threw some sick, unheralded blocks in this game.

Well, it's true. Giants got lucky because Bradshaw picked up the blitzer. Has nothing to do w/ the 20+ pts. from turnovers or Eli being clutch on the last drive.

lol brandon jacobs:

"I hate the Cowboys straight up," Jacobs told me. "It's beginning to be a personal thing. And it's been like that since I was a kid. I've been wishing bad things on them for a long time. I was a hateful little kid. Everyone loves them, so I had to hate them."

Asked what he thought about the new stadium, Jacobs said: "It's a beautiful place. It was nice of Jerry to invite us down here. But he better be careful what he asks for next time. Last year, [Jones] said he wanted to play us on Broadway, and then he got his ass beat. They got whooped 35-14 on Broadway."

If what Justin Tuck said about Adams tripping repeatedly is true, I hope he gets suspended for that crap. There's a reason tripping is a penalty. I hope the league reviews the tape and tries to confirm whether this was a one-shot deal or whether this is something the guy does repeatedly that the refs miss.
