Probably no need to cut him as it wont save any money and they could just carry him on the 53 man roster for insurance, so I guess as long as he's not a malcontent off field they'll keep him, but it's amazing that they got absolutely nothing from this guy.
He was on the field but I don't think he was targeted once. I'm really surprised he hasn't been able to make a contribution and to be honest, it doesn't seem to have hurt the patriots, which is suprising as well.

I think they are going to wait it out with MuchoStinko. The offense is incredibly complex for the WR with all of the option routes and reading. He must be trying or they would have cut him. So maybe the light bulb can go off and he can contribute for the playoffs. Its frustrating that he's not contributing.

At this point in the season there's no reason to do anything other than ride things out with Ocho for the year. He's not actively hurting the team, doesn't even get that many snaps, and unlike Haynesworth, is actually trying. If he actually manages to do something on the field this year it's basically a bonus, but the chance he actually does something on the field is still high enough to keep him on the team. There's really nobody behind him.

I'd rather see Price get reps at this point, since he actually has a future with this team.

if a guy doesn't play special teams and isn't contributing on offense or defense, then he's hurting the team b/c it's a dead roster spot. roster spots are very valuable...I mean we are playing Edelman on defense b/c there are no more DB's we can roster (with Chung and McCourty both hurt but not IR'd)

not saying that is Ochocinco, but if the Pats dressed Toro and Toro just sat there on the sidelines doing nothing, that's a net huge negative to the team

I just dont think he can get open consistently anymore tbh. First drive of the game on third and long Chiefs played man coverage on him pressing him at the line with only one safety deep. Really obvious pre snap so Brady looked to throw there. Ocho couldnt get open and Brady ended up getting called for grounding. Brady basically never looked at him again. At least that's what I saw.

EDIT: Would like to see more Taylor Price. He got in at garbage time but we were basically running out the clock there. Saw one snap earlier in the game, didnt know where to line up, then left until the end IIRC.

Also, as an aside, Vareen on pitch plays >>>>>> BJGE on pitch plays.

Do you think that Price is losing valuable playing time because of some loyalty to keeping Ocho on the field? The Pats don't work that way, ever. If Price is showing promise and can produce on the field, Ocho is riding the pine or cut.

@KBZ: I agree with all of that, and it's an exaggeration to call him a "dead roster spot." But I don't think he's taking playing time away from anyone valuable on the roster, and his potential is still worth his roster spot.

From what I heard, Price had a hamstring injury that kept him out of the Jets game. Not sure if he's healthy yet.

On a seperate note, I was thinking this morning. Is it really necessary for the Pats to have 5 Running backs? They currently have woody, faulk, Vereen, Ridley and law firm. I feel like one of those should be de-activated or let go to potentially open up another spot, maybe for another offensive lineman?

Faulk is done-zo but he's the one guy the Pats have too much respect for to cut mid-season.

If I had to guess I would say we will see more of Faulk in the playoffs, but also that this is his last year on the team.

That would never happen, I used to be a sack machine and although a little undersized by todays standards I'm sure I could contribute something on passing downs.

I think KBZ was going for a metaphor, regarding your performance ITT.

Any of you guys in Vegas? Hilton has Week 13 lines up, but I can't find them online anywhere. curious to see where NE/IND opened.

Also, that game has been "flexed" out it's scheduled prime-time spot, for the good of the country.

Pats defense better than green bay's by FO and ANS for all you "can't win a super bowl with a crappy defense" folks.

Who's starting for Philly this sunday?

Are the Eagles favored, or am I reading that wrong?

I never said the Pats or any other team in general "can't" win in the playoffs with a crappy defense. I said that's why we didn't win in the playoffs the last two years and am fearful it could happen again. You're taking something I said specific to our teams recent history and turning into a blanket all encompassing statement that it's impossible to win the Super Bowl with a crappy defense. That's a leap from what I'm saying. I can't speak for others that are also concerned about our d, but I suspect the same is true.

During the KC game, ESPN hung a graphic that said Belichick teams have ranked lower in YPG than PPG for 17 straight years. I'm using that as my closing argument about this year's D.

No YTF, you're so opposed to anyone finding fault with the team, your mind over reacts and read too much into what we are saying. Teams with bad defenses have won Super Bowls in the past and I'm sure will in the future too, maybe even our team. But it pisses me off that it is such a weakness and I express that. But don't mistake that for not wanting this team to win, hell, I probably want them to win more than you which probably why I get so pissed.
