I don't hide him, just laugh at him. If not for two ticky-tack calls in the last quarter, the Pats win the game, even with 7 of their best 8 players out by the end of the game.

FWIW, Brady didn't consider either hit dirty, and while they annoy me, what's a 205 lb. D-back supposed to do vs the modern TE? He can't launch high any more to force the drop without risking fines and suspensions, and trying tackle Gronk center mass at a dead run means you just bounce off.

I want the Pats' guys to go low like that, so I can't when the opposition does it.

It's f'ball, after all.

Salva,

I'm going to grant you every one of your points.

But when I add them up, I'm left with a team that has won, what? 24 of their last 27? With 2 losses on the road to two of the best teams in football, and the third loss a meaningless Week 17 game?

You know what every football fan in America west of the Berkshires calls that? A DREAM COME TRUE. So please stop it.

I feel the same way. We laugh when defenders try and tackle him high and he just shrugs him off like its nothing. The only way to take him down is hit him low. And he will get hurt a lot because of it. Such is life.

JBrochu no more name calling pls. If there are abusive PMs etc I recommend contacting an admin.
Sorry was a little fired up last night.

BTW the PM's were not abusive. More like "why can't we be friends" after he posts a pile of dumb stuff and ends up taking abuse from the board.

I'll ignore the trolling from now on.

Sure I get that and dont disagree with it and obviously there will be alot of unintentional knee shots. However there are some people that you can tell pretty much aim for the knee and while it isnt a dirty hit I think that can make you a dirty player.

I get it. The league wants to protect players' long-term health, so head shots are now verboten. The downside is the risk to their short-term careers. Most players (Gronk, too, probably) say they prefer taking the head shot.

Thought Bill Simmons MUST have been overstating the refs' impact on this game, but I just watched it. There really were a dozen bad calls this game, and they all went against us. One play does not decide a game. But a dozen?

I think criticizing the late game play calling is dumb, particularly in light of the Broncos scoring with 1:09 left on the clock.

If the running game had a chance to produce more than a 1 yard bellyflop I would say sure, run to try and finish it.

Guaranteed the only reason they ran there is because they have no passing game at that stage in the game without Gronk Edelman Amendola. It's not that it's a bad playcall, it's the only playcall.

Yeah they couldn't run worth a ****. They had the first down on the play they called and it was taken away on a BS call. Seems like a fine playcall no? It worked.

Not sure what you are referring to, the criticism in the article was about going pass-pass-pass on the series Gronk got hurt. That's sort of dumb criticism IMO.

Different sequence I think.

O I didn't check the article, thought people were criticizing the 3x run at the end there. Nevermind.

I really only was tilted when we wasted that one series with 3 runs to Bolden. Give me a break. Worst series ever. 3 consecutive touches for our worst offensive player. There's no excuse for that series.

My issue with articles like that one that say "dont blame the refs, blame these plays" is that sure the pats had their own miscues that could have cost them the game. My stance is that they overcame those issues and made plays late in the 4th qtr to win the game but those plays were called back for questionable at best penalties.

In a way its why the loss stings me so much, they didnt get the bounces, they lost players, had their miscues and still dug deep and fought back and did enough to win the game only to be robbed.

It took being on the road on a short week against a top team without 2 of their top 3 guys on D and 2 of their top 3 weapons on O and some really bad calls for them to finally lose a game.

I hate losing gronk but this time last season i think everyone was down on Amendola, Chandler has had his mistakes but he never had that game Lafell had this season where he was just targeted over and over regardless of the drops. I thought Chandler would be a much bigger impact than he has so maybe now the next week or 2 of him being the #1 TE will help him and Brady build confidence/trust so that he can be the guy that destroyed the pats every year.

During the game I was tilted but I went back and looked. He got 9 yards on 1st. Then they ran him on 2nd and 1, then again on 3rd and 1. It's not like they ran him 3 times for 2 yards each, they only needed a yard each time. They figured that was the best way to get a first down... Doesn't seem that bad from that pov

They didn't go run/run/run again afaik

At least this loss was against an NFC team. The Broncos have two losses in the AFC and that will matter in a three-way tie-breaker.

That was a real bad loss. Good chance they're the three seed now. Encouraged by the fight at the end but good lord they gave that away, and no the pooch onside wasn't a real factor

Agree, thing is though you know they're not gonna be giving up pr tds and such on a regular basis, it's an incomplete squad + a bad day + a few particularly bad plays that happen a couple times per year. Not worried.
