Anyone else scratching their head about the decision to cut Tommy Kelly now?

Agree, I have no idea what they see in Devey. Im pretty terrible at judging OL play and am still able to see that Devey sucks. I hope that Stork is good to go. An OL with Stork at C, Connolly/Cannon/Kline at G and Vollmer/Solder at T seems like it could/should be decent.

Even with being a Healthy Scratch im still pretty high on Dobson. Im holding out hope that he was inactive over not having enough reps or if they felt he wasnt back at full fitness and would struggle in the heat in Miami.

Whatever was with the DL vs Miami it wasnt working. Im just going to " In BB I trust" on that one and rest assured that it will look better next week.

Was reports that he asked to be released and they obliged. I would certainly like to still have him though.

Hmmm, guess I missed those reports. Still makes you wonder.

Why release him just because he asks? They paid him all last year while he was on IR. If he's a better option, make him play or let him sit out or retire.

He took a big pay cut in the Spring, its possible that was done with some understanding that he could opt out or it shows that the team didn't think that much of him

Not play like ****?

Devey should be bolted to the bench, but otherwise the guys in there just need to play better. No weather excuses this week. Give Brady time and they should be able to score on the Vikings. They ain't playing the Rams again this week.

If a guy wants to leave, he won't give his best effort if you make him stay. You're better off letting him go.

Heh, as I type this, Tommy Kelly enters the game on a passing down for AS.

The best boston fan poster on SE (next to KBZ) is making huge bets against this team. I'm scared.

Don't take it too personal. I'm pretty unpopular on 2p2 too and I'm sure you're a good guy IRL.

I don't take anything on 2+2 personal. I can be tough to take on here sometimes, for sure.

It is a pretty sweet freeroll though. Come on 14 game winning streak!! One time!!

You got scared of terrible Jets teams in 2011 and 2012 too though, that doesn't really give us any new information.

Were you scared of an inferior Jets team in 2010 at home in the playoffs after a 45-3 drubbing?

Jets didn't win the division that year iirc. That team was good and probably beats the Pats 1 in 4. The one came up oh well. Obviously I have concerns this season, just funny to see you worried about the Jets every year when they've been dog**** for awhile now. Miami is better this year, Buffalo is too with competent QB play.

BB got horribly out-coached by Rex Ryan that day. Jets still crow about it, it's the second greatest victory in their franchise history. 1 in 4 is way too low given the gameplan. The Pats have entered a lot of big games with the horses on paper and come up small. There should be five championship banners hanging in Foxboro. It's happening more often now.

And to the BB defenders, this entire team is in BB's vision. He overrules whatever scout he wants, drafts all the Rutgers players in the world, has had years to put a defense and offense on the field in his personal vision of what a good football team looks like.

Everything you see on that field is a reflection of BB's personal talent evaluation and team construction, plus coaching and execution.

I think highly of BB in terms of everything save for drafting where I believe he is in about the 30th percentile in the NFL.

with the notable exception of DB & WR, I think he has a pretty good record drafting. Maybe not 90+ percentile, but way better than 30-

Draft day trades he is probably 100th percentile, or at least 94th. However with all those extra picks he hasn't done a ton, he's done okay here and there, but 20th to 25th is probably about right. Definitely above the super awful drafters, but a little behind most of the competent front offices.

Spread was -9, who gives a **** whether the Jets fans crow about a nice win for their team? You argue the defense doesn't have any good players every year, now they should have five titles? Huh? Also what does that good Jets team winning a playoff game have to do with you piping up every year to talk about how a dog**** Jets team will challenge for the division? You crack me up.

Was this supposed to be a put down of BB or something? Sounds like you aren't giving enough credit to everyone else for going 100+ games over .500 for the last 13 years.

I have a real tough time telling skill from luck in NFL drafting once you rise above the lol lets take TRich at 3 type incompetents and BB is exhibit A. Pats have had stretches where they were arguably the best drafting team in the NFL and then that '06-'09 stretch when they were absolutely terrible.

I give credit to Tom Brady and team preparation for the last 13 years. And yes, the latter used to be BB's strength. They looked horribly unprepared in Miami. That's on coaching, and that's on BB. He got outplayed.

Drafting is overrated and an inexact science, but this team has blown a lot of draft capital over the years. You can't get credit for being a wheeler and dealer if you don't capitalize. BB's celebrated trade-downs are one of the most overhyped aspects of the organization. They have produced net losses overall.

Oh he for sure shares the blame for Sunday. Doesn't really change your post being way out there.

Glad to see you acknowledged at least one other element, quarterback play, that contributes to results on the field (BTW, and I don't think it was the difference in the game, the Patriots quarterback play sucked on Sunday)
