Thanks for being Te-Boner. God, already sick of him. You guys did have demons vs the annoying ass Broncos but that was under Shanahan. Amazing performance. Then again Broncos suck but have been getting lucky for a while.

Are you kidding? The Pats shed far, far bigger demons with this win tonight. Let's hope it continues. Personally, I forgot what it was like to be really drunk after a Pats playoff game and not be really, really pissed!

What do we think of using Hernandez as a running back?

I thought this comment about the Patriots' first drive, which included Hernandez's 43 yard run, at ESPN.com was interesting.

Quote:
The reason why this works so well vs. having a regular RB starts with the huddle. After a first down run by BJGE, Edelmen subs in for Benny. Denver subs in a CB in exchange for a LB.

the Pats formation was...

Branch ...Wes .. O-LINE... Gronk (just off the line standing)... Edelmen.

1st play: Brady hits Gronk on an out post for a 16 yard gain. (14:00 as Gronk was knocked out of bounds)

The Pats went no huddle (only took about 12 to 15 seconds) and line up

Edelmen Gronk/O-line..........Wes...... Branch (13:50 at the snaps. The clocked stopped until the ball was set.)

you can see the cunfusion in Denver's (who was stuck in their nickel defense) before the snap. They line up in a 4-3 look with the Nickel CB over Wes. The Pats run it the opposite side behind Gronk. Denver's spacing was heavy towards the Wes/Branch side of the ball creating a wide lane for Hernandez to run. The Denver FS (#30) charged the LOS and flat out whiffed on Hernandez leaving a lot of green for Hernandez. (13:40 as Hernandez was tackled 43 yards later )

While still in the no huddle they line up totally different yet again.....

Branch Hernandez .... O_LINE ...Gronk......Wes....Edelmen (Snap 13:13)

Brady hits Welker over the middle for a TD. (13:09)

3 plays in the no huddle. 3 totally different formations. (4 wide. 3 wide and a TE. 5 wide. Same personnel) All in the span of 51 seconds. Denver was totally shell shocked on that opening drive and they really never recovered

Loved the game but I wish Belichek would pull all the starters when it's not in doubt.

Nice find, Dynasty, thanks.

And if I never hear the word Ocho for the remainder of the season, that would OK by me! I swear, every single effort to get that guy involved just winds up being a waste of a play.

I'm not going to cry if Houston pulls off an upset, but I would like to see the Pats play the Ravens. With all the recent history it should make for a really good game - plus as angerpush mentions the haters will be out in full force if the Pats manage to draw Denver/Houston for a sb path.

Would love to see Ravens, then Giants in the SB.

Baltimore is coming to town.

I think Brady may be able to retain his intensity this week thinking about that loss a couple years ago. Who were the Ravens players saying "the dynasty is over" on the sidelines at the end of that game?

Ed Reed hurt himself on the last play of the game today and was helped off the field. It's not clear at the moment how serious it is.

For sure it felt better after making the 3 ft putt, but nonetheless not any harder to make.

Great all-around game, real excited/optimistic about next week, even with a quality opponent coming to town. Extra happy that our injuries sustained yesterday dont appear to be serious.

The Packers and the Saints losing seems good for the Patriots if we win next week against the Ravens.

Those two teams (along with the Pats) were tops in the NFL in points and yardage. Rodgers or Brees could have done a lot of damage against the Pats defense.

Manning and the Giants could obviously be tough too. But, the 49ers seem much less likely to put up a lot of points. (Saints may disagree)

Meh, I'd much rather face the Packers than the Giants. Pats at least have a shot trading points with the Packers, but the Giants can both score points and stop Brady. They look terrifying right now and already beat us in our own home. Little premature, tho.

I mean c'mon in the regular season they didn't even outscore their average opponent. The Packers went 15-1! I think the Packers and the Saints were the two toughest opponents in the playoffs for the Patriots.

Who wouldn't want the Giants to reverse the Superblow?

Of course in 07 I was screaming for the Packers until Favre lobbed it up, again.

And the Giants just tore those 15-1 Packers a new one.

I hate to troll them this way, but does anyone wonder what would have happened to the Packers this year if BB were coaching them?
