Re: New England Patriots

I said this in the NFL thread, but I blame the Kraft's. they should never have built this ****ing stadium in Foxboro with all the Rt 1 traffic problems on gameday. if leaving in the 3rd means beating 1.5 hours of traffic, I'm all for it

I don't see how you can blame Kraft. He wanted to build it on the waterfront in South Boston with direct access to public transit. But the Boston/Massachusetts policiticians squashed that idea fast.

Of course it's up to you or anyone else that paid money to go to the game to leave at the end of the third quarter but I just don't understand it and I have to admit I lose respect for the fans that do it. I don't understand why you would pay all that money to leave and miss a portion of the game. I do see your point, Toro though about Brady. We're paying his salary so we should be able to leave when we want. I guess I see both sides.

I guess I'm just angry about the whole thing! Gillette is a disaster IMO. it's super quiet b/c of design, it's expensive, it's not even that nice, and it's a giant PITA to get to. I can't think of anything that is actually good about it.

Don't worry, before you know it, you'll be my age and be content to watch the games from your couch.

Re: New England Patriots

Considering the stadium could have been built in Providence, Hartford, or St. Louis, the current location is tolerable.

They were always the "Boston" Patriots, the NE label was just a marketing move.

Re: New England Patriots

I love that we signed Woodhead. Isnt that the little guy that was working his ass off on Hard Knocks? Dumping a mediocre last year of his contract RB Maroney for a 4th rounder and now this signing of Woodhead is just so awesome.

Felger told an interesting story about this on the radio this week. After Billy Sullivan was unsuccessful in getting a site in Boston and settled on Foxboro he was so angry with the politicains he decided that there was no way he was keeping "Boston" in the team name. So he decided on Bay State Patriots.

First story in one of the Boston newspapers had the headline BS Patriots . . . and it was quickly changed to New England.

Re: New England Patriots

ahern 6 tgts 6 catch
welker 7 tgts 6 catches
moss 10 tgts 2 catches

it did feel like every single drive ended with a retarded forced throw to moss. brady did the same thing last year, forcing passes to moss like hes still in his prime.

I didn't have any confidence in the offensive coaching staff last year and this game has really cemented that. When Revis went down, the Jets put Cromartie on Moss and it looked like he was effective playing him physcial off the line. So why force everything to Moss? Makes no sense. Maybe, it's Brady's fault, I don't pretend to know who was supposed to be the primary receiver on those plays.

Also, way too many running plays. When Weis was available, ir seemed the Patriots weren't even interested. I feel like we have a coaching staff of one, Bill Belichick.

To win against the good teams, our offense must dominate and keep the defense off the field because our corners can cover but they can't make a play on the ball. Over and over, they were in position but just let the receiver catch the ball right next to them.

Re: New England Patriots

I recall the year they traded Givens and Branch, 35yr old Troy Brown became the 2nd and 7 utility receiver. I suspect Kraft/Chek don't want to leave any value on the table when the contract expires.
