The defense is becoming shaky. It's simply not a Super Bowl contending defense. That's got to be a top off-season priority.

On the bright side, Julian Edelman looked fairly good in Welker's role.

Re: New England Patriots

weird season. knew this was a 1 playoff win team at best since the NO game, but they still were not very far from a 12-4 or 13-3 record when u look back at the games. crazy how such a flawed team could have been 12 and 4 or better. gonna need a monster offseason to have a chance next year. just about everyone is easily replaceable on this team except brady, wilfork, bodden, and moss the 1/2 time hes trying.

This. The D was really okay aside from the 80-yard TD run.

Special teams were as awful as I've ever seen.

Re: New England Patriots

Losing top coaches every year and the gm this year has finally caught up. I can't name one quality coach or front office person in the organization. Belichick can't do it all himself.

kind of an overstatemnet, Dante Scarnecheccia is a good oline coach but the team really lacks a quality coordinator on both sides of the ball. Seely left this year too, wonder if that's why special teams were so bad.

Yeah, kind of frustrating to continually trade down in the Draft and end up guys like chung and Brace.

while I agree offseason moves need to be made (namely, passrush), you CAN'T question the pats in terms of how they handle the draft, every single team/coach/analyst/expert has consistently pointed to the pats as the best drafting org. in the league

harbaugh, in his postgame conference, just alluded to this btw, saying the pats do "amazing" in the draft and the ravens model themselves after Bill, etc.

butler = going to be a stud
vollmer = going to be a stud
edelman = going to be a stud
pryor = will be very good, already played quite a bit on the DL, adds great depth
tate = will be very good, very explosive and also returns punts/kicks
chung = will be very good and adds great depth to a young secondary

basically, the D as a whole is very young and will be VERY good in a few years, but the O is only getting older, Moss will be 33, and so will Tom, soooooo

Re: New England Patriots

I really didn't feel good all day today. REALLY sucks to have to wait 9 months for football again. Debo, I don't blame you for your post, but believe I won't be holding back now when the jets get spanked by the bolts next week. Go bolts and ravens!!!!

Butler = serviceable hopefully
Volmer = stud
Edelmen = looks good in short spurts but seems to dinged easily
pryor = backup
tate = cant get on the field, injured
chung = haven't shown much at all

They really haven't drafted well in the last few years if you want to be objective.

you're just being a complete pessimist right now, which is understandable after such a big loss, but honestly most of those guys are/already are very good

basically, wait and see what Bill does in the offseason considering he has so many draft picks (carrots) to work with
