Cliff Notes: I'm so smart!

Watching the game Sunday, I remarked to a friend after a running play, "Look at the WALL by Edelman and Amendola!" He wasn't focused on the Pats game like I was (multiple TVs), and he thought I was kidding...

...but BB used that play on the Belichick Breakdown (3:20 or so) and said those two guys don't get enough credit for their blocking skills.

(Chandler Jones vid was fun, too--especially the special teams/BB stuff.)

Read a piece today about Coughlin vs Belichick over the years, dating back to when they were assistants under Parcells and their units would practice against each other. It was a cool piece, but the constant reminders of Welker/Samuel/Tyree stung a little--especially learning that Tyree "practically ruined" the Giants' last practice by dropping everything that was thrown to him. "He had balls ricocheting off his helmet," Coughlin recalled.

James White is getting a lot of hype lately as the only guy on the roster who can give a percentage of Dion's performance so far. I googled James White and got this:

Quote:
“James White” burrows so deeply into the consciousness of its title character, a flailing young Manhattanite played by Christopher Abbott (“Girls”), that his self-loathing and panic feel contagious. Who hasn’t, at a certain point in life, faced a sink-or-swim moment when a promising future suddenly began to seemout of reach?
Sounds right to me.

The great Bill Burr sums up what all Pats fans think when we have to play against Eli Kryptonite.

NSFW language, of course.

This first half is ugly. Will be very hard without Edelmann in the 2nd. Not sure why we stick with Blount so long. Didn't seem to do anything good.

And I aged another few years.
Hopefully Edelmann isn't done for the season.

The offense will still be good if we can get the o-line healthy.

Some reports that Edelman broke his foot and season is in jeopardy.

Without Edelman we can be competitive. But damn this team has taken hits.

Bengals are legit. They are a real obstacle to the super bowl. Fortunately lol peyton

Gross. I think Amendola can move the chains enough in his absence. The offense has been clicking since day one, the only true losses are Gronk and of course Brady. If those two are healthy, they can move the ball and play solid defense and continue their ways.

Butler went super saiyan today and overall our defense looks way ahead where I expected them to be.

Playing without Lewis and Edelman is going to take some adjustments on offense. Chandler/LaFell/Dobson are going to need a lot more reps and start becoming a bigger part of the offense. Brady looks like he could be more effective with traditional wide receivers this year so it's the perfect time to try it out. Prior to the injuries we were the best offense in the league by far, I think the toll probably brings us back to the upper echelon with the Bengals/Cardinals/Steelers/Packers. Still a ton of Super Bowl equity.

They still have enough weapons but the way I see it the weapons they have will probably require Brady to hold the ball slightly longer to let plays develop further downfield. They need some good news on the o-line sooner rather than later.

Yea I agree that Brady and GRONK may be the only two individuals they can't afford to lose, but **** the sum of all these injuries is killing

Remember when some moron whined about the Pats offensive depth earlier this year? Good times

Edelman seems to have a great chance to be back for the playoffs given the type of bone break and this team is getting a bye so could have been worse

The Patriots first playoff game (Divisional round) is in nine weeks.

If Edelman is back by then, I don't think our Super Bowl equity is hurt too much.

Dez Bryant returned from his injury in seven weeks.

Welp, we can't complain too much extracting a win @NYG en route to 9-0. Can we move the ball without Edelman and Lewis? I see some struggles but this team is resilient. Denver dropped again, I don't fear Cincy. I think they play another tough game vs BUF and pull it out, and I'm ok with that. Just keep moving, forget the records.

In the '07 super season, we forget the Pats struggled for every win @ 8-0 after the squeaker against the 7-0 Colts. The Eagles played us hard. Every win became another notch in the struggle to hit Everests' peak.

I think this squad is a bit more even-keeled but I am not rooting for perfection here, they are not built that way even in a sea of mediocrity. The only X-factor is that Brady might just be built that way.

Yeah, most of the swing is just in the AFC Championship where this could cost us homefield. (Which we weren't guaranteed anyways, and we could still end up getting.)
