Good post.

Stranger things than Denver losing one of their last two have happened. Don't give up hope for the bye.

I mean, it's not a lock that Denver wins out, but it's highly likely. I'd say 90% that Denver gets the bye at this point.

Oh come on dude. 4 of their 6 fumbles were Kaep dropping the snap which is quite often recovered by the QB or offense. Not to mention one of them was on 4th and short which ended up in a TO on downs. So it was effectively 3 out of 4 aborted snaps recovered and the muffed punt (which was lucky). The one recovery by NE was when SF was damn close to 100% chance to get at least 3 points out of it.

some of Tom's throws were way off. I guess it will just never be 2004 again. Although Moss was a makeshift time machine.

I don't disagree with any of what you said, ftb, but I don't think it's unfair to say that there were a lot of mistakes by both teams due to the weather, and SF was hurt less by theirs. Again, I think SF was the better team, but it's not like they jumped out to a 31-3 lead by absolutely dominating us.

Sorry but this doesnt work when you also fumbled a snap and the RB picked it up and scores on a fluke. Pats ran bad on turnovers, SF ran good.

effectively, SF did recover 3/4 fumbled snaps, thats not run bad. but

- of the other 4 fumbles, SF recovered 3. one of which they returned 66 yard, that was massive

- SF got a line of scrimmage INT that bounced off of Hernandez's hands - bad break 2 ways there (tipped ball + it wasn't a downfield throw)

- SF got the very close "non muffed punt" call

I've posted several times the past few seasons, "Every time this team loses a game, the fans act like they've lost ten in a row." But that reaction didn't happen this time.

Nice job, fans!

NE did run good with the 9ers fumble on 4 yard line after Rogers gets tackled by Brady.

LOL at the PI call in the end zone. Although we got a PI as well but not as dramatic but just as bad.

The 1st Ginn wasn't muffed although incredibly frustrating that Ginn and Kyle Williams almost both went full ****** on a punt play against a great team. The 2nd one was lucky recover and again ******ed.

9ers ran slightly good on fumbles but not really that insanely good. CK stuff is normally recovered by the O (80%). The defensive fumble stuff is normally slightly more often recovered by the D (60%). we got 7 of 8 but one of those was a TOV on downs on a very short 4th and 1. so effectively 6 of 8 vs expected 4.8.

With that being said you guys were without Gronk and we were without Justin for some of your comeback. We were also missing Mario M which hurt a little. Hopefully we both play again in January. Hopefully both teams are near full health and it'll be in a dome so weather won't be a factor.

yeah, I'd love to see this matchup again. SF definitely a great team, would be a sick Super Bowl especially given this weeks game

Pretty sick that Brady has played as many Superbowls as he has played Playoff games on the road.

The Patriots will be playing all-out next week.

With Houston losing today, the Pats need to win and either a Houston or Denver loss to get a bye.

Even the #1 seed is still possible.

Not super optimistic over either KC or the Indy second stringers helping us out. Oh well.

There are a few mitigating factors to this though:

Playing at Home
Coach with cancer coming back for first game
Luck is a Rook and might be caught up in the excitement
Houston is slumping
