when we had the storm a few weeks back I had to listen to it and I totally agree. It's too bad, but Gil and Gino are just too old and make tons of mistakes.

Never would have believed before the Jets week that two weeks later this team would be a huge favorite to get a bye. Potentially even by week 16 giving Brady and the banged up OL in particular a little rest before the playoffs.

That's a leap from what I'm saying. I can't speak for others that are also concerned about our d, but I suspect the same is true.
This is absolutely what you said. Without a doubt. I'm not going to go back and search but I'm certain you said they won't win in the playoffs because of the D. Which is why people gave you crap. Which is why you blocked me.

I love how people retract after it becomes so obvious that they were wrong.

I love that Sanchez is included with all those other jobbers.

EDIT TO ADD: Speaking of jobbers, this Patriots schedule is so soft, it reminds me of watching wrestling when I was a kid. Killer Kahn would annihilate some jobber each weak, totally one-sided, no suspense, and we'd sit patiently through it and wait for the interviews. The NFL Playoffs are going to feel like a WWE pay-per-view event: finally, a good match!

patriots #32 in y/a....only #11 in ppg

considering this is usual of a BB defense, despite what happens the rest of the season for the love of god please stop complaining about the defense. curtis painter prob throw for 300, please accept this fact...if they look terrible in red zone, i will be first in line to complain.

Goodie I blocked you (and obv have unblocked you) because you were being a condesending ass and continued on and on even after I repeatedly told you I didn't want to continue the pissing contest.

But to the point, all I was saying and am still saying is that our defense or lack thereof scares the crap out of me come playoff time. You wanted to turn that into an arguement that Toro thinks its impossible for the Patriots to win in the playoffs with this defense and thats not at all what I said or am saying.

Bolded. Listen, I realize you've changed your tune but don't blame me when I rip into you for an opinion that you did once hold.

No big deal. Just own up to being a little more bold than you needed to be.

+1

As long as they keep forcing TOs/FGs in the red zone and not allowing big scoring plays this D will suffice.

Thats why we cant win a playoff game refers to the last two years that has frustrated the hell out me. It doesn't mean I think it's impossible as you tried to frame the arguement. In fact I said as long as Brady and the offense score 35 points or more it won't matter. I think we in fact agree that the defense sucksand Im hopeful that we're better but the recent competition is not really a good barometer.

So it looks like we wont know for sure until January and I'm hoping that youre right and Im wrong and they are in fact good enough for us to enoy the last few years of Brady's greatness.

"Just own up to being a little more bold than you needed to be. " And Goodie this is what I mean about being condescending. You tend to lecture people alot in your posts.

Oh for Christ's sake, Toro. HE didn't write the bold sentence in the present tense, YOU did! "Oh, I was talking about two years ago, not NOW. You're trying to frame me!" No sir, we're watching you trying to dance and wiggle and get away from your own words, as haplessly as a man trying to jump away from his own shadow, and we're stunned that you won't simply "man up" and OWN them. At the very least, "Yeah, I did say that. I guess I wasn't clear...I apologize for the confusion...", but you can't even cop to THAT.

Reminds me of Danica Patrick causing a wreck, hopping out of the car pointing fingers and yelling at other drivers. One of the crew chiefs told his driver sarcastically, "Don't mind her--she's never been wrong in her life!"

Not saying the Pats offense is useless, but now that there is plenty of film out there on how to slow the offense down, teams are doing it. When the offense rolled, people weren't sure how to slow down Welker/Gronk/Hernandez

So all you guys saying "told you so" to Toro are fully prepared to bend over and admit how wrong you were if the Pats D lays an egg in the playoffs correct? I mean, I'm not sure how on the one hand you can argue his point was clearly that the Pats can't win in the playoffs with this D, yet on the other insist he's now been proven wrong.

Last time I checked the playoffs had not started.

YTF, I'll be sure to check my grammar when I post from now on but when I posted that after our defense was being shredded I was most certainly referring to the last two years failed efforts.

I really don't see how that's so hard to see as the statement was being made in the context of our teams recent history.

And besides someone had to post something in the thread where you had 15 or so consecutive posts with no replies.

no. in 1 game anything can happen.

the inability of some people to understand that in any given 60 minutes a team may not play to it's exact true talent level is stunning

That's true. In one game anything can happen. But, if the Pats fail in the playoffs this year due to poor defense, that will be three striaght years of one and done as the window of the Brady era gets shorter and shorter.

And that would truly be a shame.

Pats have played 2 bad playoff games in a row. but vs Baltimore they scored 14 points while gaining 195 yards. you can't pin that loss on the defense

Well that game was a total debacle with plenty of blame to go around. Baltimore scored 24 points in the first quarter but 2 TDs were after turnovers so the offense deserves a lot of blame but the defense was equally bad.

I guess, but selectively counting the 2007 SB and not the other 2007 playoff games is weird. also, that team is so different than the current team that it's not much value to compare
