Now that you guys think the offense stinks, too, I read that Brady is on pace to beat Marino's once-untouchable single-season yardage record.

When the offense racks up the yards, you focus on the points and say they stink.
When the defense holds down the points, you focus on the yards and say they stink.

Pick a criteria, would you plz?

I dont think the offense stinks. Which posters think that? Show of hands.

The offense doesn't "stink," but it's been on a steady decline pretty much every game this season, and has been particularly stagnant the past 3 games. As the offense goes, Brady has played relatively poorly as of late.

I think the biggest concern right now with this team is that they haven't shown consistency on both sides of the ball for any game this season.

I posted this before. The offense needs to spread it out, go no huddle and run the ball less. And Im predicting you will see this vs the Jets.

Ytf, how does Brady's projections fare when you take away the first game of the season? The first two games? The first three? I think it is far more likely that the last four games of a team are closer to reality than the four before it.

it *seems* like they have gone much more towards a run/pass balance and away from the 5 WR/spread sets they were using to crush people. so my gut says I agree

FO had an article that said the main issue with the Patriots was the fact they have no deep threat. It's been tougher to get the short/intermediate routes to succeed because teams no longer keep a guy back. I'm not sure what I think about that because the Pats offense was absolutely fine without Moss after the first couple of games.

It's like the Wildcat. It was awesome in the beginning, but once film was out there and people saw how to beat it, it became useless.

Not saying the Pats offense is useless, but now that there is plenty of film out there on how to slow the offense down, teams are doing it. When the offense rolled, people weren't sure how to slow down Welker/Gronk/Hernandez

The "main" issue is no deep threat? Really? I can think of a lot issues before I am worried about the deep threat.

No, you're basically saying just that. The Pats run an offense that any capable DC and Internet jockey like yourself can figure out and completely shut down.

Brady is screwed, he's running a gimmick offense the league has figured out, he's done. Jets fans are doing the snoopy dance right now, and that's fine (and appropriate given the sponsor of your stadium), but you're just trolling so come back sunday night, mmmkay?

so, what was the beginning? 2007? 2008? 2010? I mean the Pats been an elite offense for most of the last 5 years, albeit one with different forms. and they were looking unstoppable as of like..3 games ago?

Pats put up 446 yards of offense and 30 points against the Jets October 9th. if that's what an elite defense does to "slow them down", I snap call that result.

Your such an inconsistent poster, Debo. Honestly, some of your posts are really good and make me think quite a bit. Then you spew nonsense like this.

Being at the game last week and being able to see the whole field, honestly, Brady was just making some bad throws. They still put up some decent numbers but the mistakes killed them. Receivers were still getting open and I found the Giants D to be confused a decent amount of the time. Ochocinco was open about 4 times and Brady missed him.

Debo has been the new ShiponTilt since the season started. Useless troll poster with nothing to add of significance.

Good points. From what I've noticed, Brady is keying in on one target too much this year. On the pick where he was throwing to Gronk he had Welker and someone else (A-hern?) wide open and decided to laser it into double coverage instead. Usually he's the best when it comes to going through all his options but this year he has not spread the ball around as much, made some bad throws, and forced a lot of things on offense.

Where's Branch? Where's a deep ball to Slater? Where are all the quick WR screens this team used to do? Idk what's up, but the last few weeks the playcalling and execution have both been bad imo.

Every year a jets fan seems to make the jump from someone I want to strangle to someone I agree with the majority of the time. Two years ago was smiglet. Last year was debo, but he shows signs of regressing at times. This year has been you. I almost feel proud. You have bouts of idiocy/trollishness but you are so much better than last year and I applaud you.

Great drive by brady and Co. The Pats pass rush is very good tonight. Sanchez is dumb.

Great game by the Pats, real strong win on the road vs the Jets. Brady had some great moments in the 1st half with some poor throws too, second half he has played outstanding.

They need to run the no huddle more.

I'd be shocked if this doesn't become standard for the rest of the year.

Nice effort by the defense tonite, maybe (I hope) I was wrong about them. But at least give me credit for saying they had to go no huddle. No huddle was the key to tonites game. Jets defense couldn't substitute and they got gassed and it also created mismatches that Brady exploited.
