It's not "not very good" it's terrible and it's frustrating because it's going to prevent us from winning another SB in the short window that we have until Brady retires.

Toro, I'm pretty sure you have me blocked but you're not good at watching football. The performance that the Defense put in this past week is not judged only by the final quarter or the final drive. You actually have to take a look at the entire effort and how they played for 60 minutes. If you do, it was not terrible. It was not "very good", great or elite either. It was above average and better than what we've been seeing.

It's funny, there are two areas of life where otherwise intelligent people seems to struggle with very elementary situations and both are represented on this site, poker and sports.

Haynesworth released. I can't be upset with BB on this one, only cost a low draft pick in '13 and low salary and with big upside if he could ever get motivated, but unfortunately the guy was a lost cause.

Yeah, those things aren't remotely analogous.

Sure they are. In both cases you negate all the good work you did earlier.

I wish Toro didn't block me as conversations with him would be much easier if he read my posts.

I'm thinking about nominating him for the worst poster thread but I don't think many people really know him or care. My lord is he just a horrible poster. And coming from someone who most think is a horrible poster, that should be quite the insult.

Saw all the new posts and got excited..only to see its just fans of other teams trolling it up in here. Last year their was only one Goodie posting around here, but this year there's like 5 and none of them are actually named Goodie. For Jets fans this is truly LOL as they were lucky to lose by only 9 earlier this year and will lose again this Sunday.

I think this is a compliment but I'm not sure.

So again, if the defense gave up points on every single possession and then finally made a stop on the final possession to secure a win, you'd say they did a great job. That's A+ logic, toro.

First off, I don't think the offense that is producing right now is a lock to put up 24+ points. If you'd read any of my posts, you'd know that I've soured on our once GOAT offense. I'm talking about the one that was putting up 35 points a game.

something they have never done with Brady.
Actually, they have, but why let something like facts get in the way of your awesome reasoning.

The defense played real good in the first half, and gave up 24 points in the second half. I shot 1 over par for 6 holes once too and was 8 over after 9.
And if you were a 12 handicap, you'd be pretty happy with how you played.

I should also say that I never considered that offense a "lock". Just reallllllly likely, as opposed to your view which was "they won't."

Every single possession? Quite the hypothetical there, lol.

You guys are way overstating how good the defense was Sunday. You keep making references like except the last drive. Review the game chart. Both teams pitched a shutout in the first half, this was due to both defenses playing good and both offenses not. I almost posted at the half how encouraged I was, but didn't want to jinx them.

The Patriots defense even played good for part of the 3rd quarter but after that it was total fail, 24 points given up and 14 in the last two crucial drives.
I got to see better than that before I declare them an average defense.

wtf, i never declared them even an average defense. they suck. i said they were really good last week. but no, seriously, ignore the question because you know the correct answer completely invalidates your ridiculous stance.

also, lol at 24 points. terrible defense not being able to stop the giants from going 10 yards!

I just want you to answer the question. Sorry if I'm getting a tiny bit up in arms because you're taking a stance and then refusing to answer very simple questions that pertain to your stance.

Donk, I really don't want to debate ad naseum of why I think my analogy is valid vs your opinion that it doesn't work. I'm fine with you disagreeing with me and don't feel the need to "win" every argument ala Goodie.

Is it me or is this just such a massive cop out? This is basically saying "I'll make outlandish and horribly wrong statements and then when pushed to actually back them up with some semblence of logic or fact, I'll refuse and say I don't feel the need to "win"

This actually angers me even though it obviously shouldn't.

No it would be much better for all of us if Toro just continued making the same argument over and over and over again like you used to do, rather than just letting it go.

I agree. As long as he uses logic just like I do (doesn't seem like that's the case though). Good to see you're on my side Jbrochu.

Guys, sorry you believe it to be a cop out. But to me it would be a fool's errand. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that donk or goodie or their ilk would after a couple days of debate say "damn toro you make some great points, I now agree with you". So I'll "cop out" and record another "loss" in my column of 2+2 arguments.

Actually, I have done that in the past. When given convincing evidence that I was not aware of, I'm perfectly willing to own up and say I was wrong. It's the convincing evidence part that's been a big struggle for you in most, if not all, of your arguments.
