Frazier voiced confidence that cornerback Antoine Winfield will be able to play despite a fractured right hand.

Winfield and Peterson (abdomen) sat out practice. Safety Harrison Smith (shoulder) and defensive end Brian Robison (shoulder) were limited in practice but should be fine for Saturday, Frazier said.

Forgot to post this (from pff) RE: Sherels yesterday:

Quote:
With slot cornerback Antoine Winfield playing only 19 snaps before departing due to injury, CB Marcus Sherels was forced into action. After seeing the field for only 44 snaps all season, Sherels played 33 of his 34 snaps in the slot Sunday, with disastrous results. The Packers targeted him 10 times for nine receptions, 162 yards and a -5.0 coverage grade.

It’s been an elite two-week stretch for Griffen, who graded at +4.5 after posting a +6.8 last week. He picked up seven pressures on his 30 attempts, including three sacks, a hit, and three hurries. His +3.8 pass rush grade was the lone positive on the Vikings’ defense. Griffen gave Barclay fits when lined up on the outside, but he also picked up a sack on RG Josh Sitton, and a quick pressure on LG T.J. Lang from an interior rush position. Griffen’s emergence gives Minnesota one of the better pass rush packages in the league, as he kicks inside to defensive tackle to team with DEs Jared Allen and Robison, and DT Kevin Williams.

Good stuff. idk what those + and - numbers mean exactly, but the articles agree with my eyeball assessment of the game.

10 attempts for 162 yards - this guy should not be on the field ever again.

Griffen is turning into a stud.

They are just ratings. Positive is good, negative is bad and they are a counting stat. That's really all you need to know. They aren't terribly valuable.

I don't need no fancy numbers to tell me Sherels was awful

10 for 162 adds a little meaning to what we saw imo.

I hope Simpson is expendable this off season.

^^ Ponder was trying to throw that away and it got tipped or something.

Man, the more I read about the situation, the more I'm convinced its a lock for Jennings to come here next year.

Like, I wouldn't be surprised if his wife is house hunting here already.

Eh depends on what contract he would get. I mean he has had Rodgers and Favre throwing to him his whole career. Going from that to Ponder could make him look pretty ordinary. I mean just look at Fitz in AZ; one of the most talented WRs in the NFL and didn't do **** this year because of their QB situation.

The talk of Frazier being a bad coach is LOL. He's done more with less this year than any other coach. Winning last 4 games without Harvin and has out schemed the last 6 opponents(Losses to CHI and GB was not his fault as execution of game plan SUCKED!). Give credit to Musgrave as well for still finding ways to get AP a chance against 8-9 men boxes and giving Ponder a chance to succeed with high % pass plays.

It was Frazier who helped weather the storm when Vikes went to 6-6 and steered this team to double digit victories. This team wasn't supposed to win no more than 5-6 games yet he has these players believing they can go all the way. The game plan is simple: feed AP the ball, create enough plays in the passing game, win turnover battle and take the lead and hold onto it. It is easier said then done yet the Vikings have done that for 4 straight weeks.

As far as Jennings? Can't see it happening. I think it all depends on what they do with Harvin. If they feel he is expendable since they can win without him you trade Harvin for picks, move Wright full time in slot and probably draft 2 WR's. Save the money on resigning your own players(Loadholt, Henderson, Griffin, Felton, Robison, etc...) restructure veterans ( Winfield, Williams, Allen), let go of dead weight(all WR's except Wright, Carlson) and take a chance at a surprise FA( Jared Cook).

I'm not saying I want him, I'm saying it's gonna happen.

Harvin is gone. 100%. It's not even debatable anymore.

I agree. He isn't worth the headache he could bring for multiple years at 9-10 mil a year.

They are but Speilman usually doesn't wait until last year of contracts on the core members of our team. Why get in a bidding war?

As far as Carlson..... he is a bust. It would be a $4 million hit on cap but he has proven he doesn't have it.

I would for sure go to webb, regardless of whether ponder can play through it or whatever. I mean, with how ****ty ponder has been this yr,if hes not 100%, its a no brainer. Plus, webb is a guy who might be able to do some things gb isn't prepared for

no need to be sad dudes. we exceeded expectations by like 1000%. next year with ponder and no percy and our schedule could be really bad, might need to root for a top 3 pick to get clowney/bridgewater/manziel
