If the end goal is to land RG3/Luck then Ponderosa's development should be the least of our concerns.

Tanking sure looks a lot worse than trading but they're pretty similar. An owner trading current assets for future assets is knowingly putting a worse team on the field short term while also trying to save $$$. An owner tanking would knowingly be putting a worse team on the field in hopes of landing, in this specific scenario, RG3/Luck.

You wouldn't, but what about casual fan?

What about in baseball when a team trades away half their team, thus not putting a quality product on the field for the final 2 months, do you hate ownership or applaud them for thinking of the future?
Completely different. In baseball they are still putting the best players available on the field. Once traded they're not available. You don't think Twins fans would go nuts if they benched Mauer for September?

I heard Childs had been playing really well.

Then yesterday, he tore not one, but both patella tendons in his knees.

Man, how unlucky do you have to be to tear up BOTH knees in one play...

Friend of mine tore both his patella tendons jumping off a diving board. He was in a wheel chair and it took him maybe a year to recover.

Jared Allen on Peterson: I can't wait to hit him. Coach says we can't hit him yet, well if hitting him gets me thrown out of practice I'm going to T-off on him today.

Anyone else thinking that Ponder has looked pretty damn good and is getting irrationally optimistic about the season?

None of this stuff, but I'm definitely excited. I don't watch much preseason, but didn't the offense stink it up last week when SD never played their 1st team D?

I'd love to see us beat everyone in the division at least once, that seems kind of optimistic, but anything can happen in the NFL.
