Just so you guys know my contract with CCU is up May 1st. I can come coach after that. Might have to wait til 2012, so hang onto chilly for one more year.

not a news source. speculation from a random internet commenter somewhere. daily norseman maybe.
-------
Adam S just reported on ESPN that Zygi was not happy with what transpired this afternoon. "Zygi was instrumental in Randy returning to MN". (Remember also, Zygi really wanted Randy when he bought the team but Red MC dumped him before the deal iirc)

and he just tweeted it: Those who know Zygi Wilf say Vikings owner is angry his team plans to waive the player that he wanted, and worked to bring back, to Minn.

Because it could be a sticking point.

Childress is owed $5m/yr in '11, '12 and '13 iirc. I guess that is less than Favre's salary for this season though...

/edit slow pony

And you're right I think AJ, I remember that story about Red.

Re: Minnesota Vikings - MURDER CHILLY

IF Chilly were to get fired, say tomorrow, , Leslie Frazier is the obvious interim head coach choice. Which would be nice. Because we'd see whether or not he could handle the job first before giving him a long term deal (as in, Chilly gets fired at the end of the season and Frazier gets a 3-4 year deal to be head coach)

I'm not convinced on Frazier. I'd rather us go big with someone like Cowher or someone.

I'm with you 100%. Cowher is the guy I want most.

Gruden or even Billick would be fine if Cowher wont do it. I dont think Dungy wants to coach anymore, but he'd be a great choice as well.

Re: Minnesota Vikings - MURDER CHILLY

Is there any evidence that any of those guys want to coach?

It's funny in StarTribune land. When people comment on a story, you can click yes/no whether you agree with their comment. Right now the Fire Chilly comments are getting about 95% agreement.

Re: Minnesota Vikings - MURDER CHILLY

Gruden has expressed his desire to have a chance to coach the vikes during telecasts. I'm assuming he'd jump at the chance. Billick - I have no idea but I know Moss loves him. Cowher - I would think if he ever wanted to coach again, he'd like to come into a situation with as much talent as we have. Zygi might be willing to throw a lot of money at a guy like him.

^^^ ugh, that sucks

the scenario I am hoping for has Zygi in meetings and finding ways to keep Randy and dump Chilly....not Chilly releasing statements through the team website.

Moss was owed like $9 mil for a bonus, Red thought his choices were to keep $9 mil, or lose $9 mil for a team he was about to sell.. F that bastard

Choice he apparently didn't bother pursuing was asking Wilf to pay the $9 mil

That's either chilly's career or our team if he stays & Moss goes.
