lol, I was coming here today to quote myself and say how glad I am that I was wrong about this. Its turned into a fun start to the season. Hopefully we can keep this up for a while now.

Berrios looked sharp yesterday against a very good team. Hopefully he can keep that up. If so, maybe we have 4 pretty good starters.

I started losing interest when we started having historic losses.

Today I look at the box score from yesterday and see not only did we win, Mauer's corpse seems to have risen from the dead. 4-5 with a HR yesterday, .294/.368/.424 for the season now. He's starting to almost look productive again.

Then I look at the standings and somehow we're still in 1st place.

I feel like I should be more excited about this team than I am.

Yeah the division lacks any standout team imo

Sano looks to be the real deal, with Trout missing 2 months has actual MVP equity.

I was at the game Monday, holy hell was that depressing.

yeah, its the only game in MLB history that a team has led by 6 or more runs in the 8th inning or later and lost by 8 or more runs. Games like that suck the life out of me as a fan. Baseball is my 3rd favorite pro sport, so I lose interest when the Twins suck.

And somehow we are still in 1st place after going 4-6 in our last 10 games. With this bullpen, I just dont see how we stay there all season.

Sano is a beast.

Still in 1st place bitches. 1/3 of the season is over. Love the way Molitor is managing the team this year compared to last. Sano going to ASG as starter at 3rd most likely. Hope he enters the Derby as well.

They were projected to improve some this year and significantly outperformed their projection. It is a successful season.

They also upgraded prospects with the Garcia deals and got a decent return for Kintzler.

Overall new leadership is looking like an improvement.

I agree. We would not have won the 1991 world series without making a deal like this - we got Tapani, Aguillera and West back in the Viola deal. All of them contributed to us winning the WS. We also never would have had players like Nathan, Liriano or Ortiz in our organization without making deals like this.

Reasonable shot at the Division too imo. 4.5 back with 3 at home vs Cleveland. Lots of games left.

Last week or so was the most fun it's been to watch the Twins in like a decade.

Good game and a tough loss. Presumably wouldn't have mattered but not sure I like the intentional walk to a bad hitter like Sanchez there. I probably would have pitched to him but never given in. I think having first base open is worth more as a pitcher there than having the double play set up. Especially because the twins are pitching at least one more inning no matter what so ending the inning on the 8th hitter is definitely better than ending on the 9th hitter.

I could be wrong though - it all depends on the likelihood of a double play ball I guess

I don't understand sending colon out for the 7th, with no one up in the bullpen even. You have a 44 year old guy with a 6 something ERA who throws about 87 mph. luckily, he gets through 4 innings scoreless but gives up home runs in the 5th and 6th innings, along with several other very hard hit balls - but he makes it through 6 with a 3-2 lead. i get that the closer is probably not available today but it's September and we have like 15 relievers up. Just take the good outing and get someone fresh in there

The double over his head last night (5th or 6th inning I think?) was really bad. I think most good high school players catch that ball

You are down 2-1 batting in the top of the 8th. It's well known that the pitcher has had major control issues lately. Leadoff man is HBP. You put in a PH who squares to bunt. First pitch is about 3 feet high of the strike zone. Second pitch you bunt him again.

What the **** are you thinking? they need to get a moderately smart person on the payroll and put him in molitor's ear in situations like this.

I don't even hate the bunt as much as most of you guys. If it's bottom of 8th and game is tied and the pitcher can throw a strike then I think it's fine. Or if it's runners on 1st and 2nd. But bunting is this situation is absolutely ridiculous
