Re: Minnesota Timberwolves

Cheering for white guys in the NBA is so standard and not racist imo, everyone loves an underdog. I wouldn't think a black guy was racist if his favorite hockey player was one of the few black guys.

Fast forward to 3:25 for K Loves opinion on the matter

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves

I remember in an Economics of Sports class that having 1 white guy on your team directly increased revenue. Didn't matter if that white guy played or was in advertising, allegedly just seeing him on the bench was enough to boost sales.

However, any extra white guys didn't make a difference. So the Wolves can't game the built-in racism that way.

This was from research done a while ago at this point but I wouldn't be surprised if it still held.

We also learned that Michael Jordan was likely grossly underpaid in his 33 million season. Not sure if that should be surprising or not.

No. Wolves would have to sign Beasely first, but I hate it.

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves

Beasley is a FA. We cant trade him. We can sign him (not likely) or let him go (likely). Adelman doesnt want him imo.

DW for #2 would have been a steal.

DW+junk for P Gasol would be good. If the deal includes Pek, I hate it. Pau has a few good years left in him imo. His salary would hamstring us for a couple years, but we'd have a hell of a good team if we can add him & another starting caliber wing to what we have now.

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves

"Swede" is actually Shved after it gets run through the translator.

CSKA President Andrey Vatutin has confirmed that defender Alex Swede will continue his career in the NBA.

“Now I can say that Alex will leave CSKA Swede, is a matter of practical solutions. I understand that Alex will leave this summer in the NBA. For him, this is less a question of money, just a guy wants to try himself in the strongest league in the world. In my opinion, too early, but the player and the agent knows best, that’s their decision. I understand that in a year sentence, which is now a Swede might not be "- quoted Vatutina “Izvestia” .

According to Sports.ru, most likely, Swede continued his career in the “Minnesota.”

So hopefully that's accurate that he's coming to the Minnesota.

Hummel was so good when he was healthy in college. Doubt it translates at all but he was fun to watch.

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves

My boss speaks Russian and confirmed that it says "he will continue his career in Minnesota" and that he's leaving "this summer".

Cool I guess. Can't be worse than the unplayable guys the Wolves have now at the wing positions. Does this guy play 2 or 3?
