Hopefully its just agents blowing smoke. He is not good at all anymore. He cant shoot, doesnt defend and is a douche. And he's a huge injury risk. I think he shot 21% from 3 last season.

I asked you how you were rating the players impact on their teams performance and given your lack of an answer I will just assume that you don't have any idea how to work that out which probably says something about your argument

Does anyone here speak Spanish? Can you confirm or deny what this guy says the translation of this article is?

some small tidbits:

He had first dibs on representing Minnesota at the lottery, but deferred to Wig. He’s getting up 1,000 shots a day and nothing will disrupt his routine. Nothing. That and he didn’t have a natty suit.

He and Thibs have been talking a lot this summer and breaking down film together. Apparently the Wolves paid for a big video conferencing unit to be installed in Ricky’s home in Spain.

He may spend some time in LA this summer working with Kobe on post-up moves, which would add a new wrinkle to his already vast offensive arsenal. Kobe apparently won’t charge the Wolves for his services as penance for injuring Rubio his rookie year.
This sounds like Thibs is all in on Rubio being a key player for the Wolves going forward.

Assume way, you're entirely wrong (and super obnoxious about it too, a solid double whammy). I'm trying to get you to talk about a player--literally any player that I listed--so that we can have a comparative discussion that includes some qualitative analysis instead of sorting by RAPM, but you refuse. If you have a better route of determining whether Rubio is a top 8 pg then by all means, suggest it. My assumption--maybe unfairly? you won't engage--is that you're interested only in sorting by a stat and not talking about the factors that may impact it, which doesn't even rise to the level of analysis, much less meaningful analysis.

I suggested John Wall if you want a starting place. Do you think that John Wall is better or worse than Ricky Rubio?

I mean, jesus, there isn't even consensus on what RAPM you should be looking at. And of course that carries tons of implications with it (e.g. if you're a devout follower then you think that Wiggins is terrible).

Why even continue with andyhop at this point? He's given his take and that's that. Do you think he's going to suddenly have super entertaining or brilliant analysis on this topic?

Stats, no matter how advanced they are, dont tell you everything. They do tell you something though, as most players who most people consider to be the best are near the top of most good advanced stats, but almost anyone who watches NBA games with any regularity obviously thinks Wall is better than Rubio.

I am a big believer in the ability of the adjusted plus minus family of stats ability to provide us with good impact numbers obviously others aren't so rather than Aidsing up the thread with loads of posts going backwards and forwards changing no ones mind I won't carry on about it.

Saw the question today: Who is the better young core: Towns/Wiggins/Lavine or Embid/Simmons/Fultz.

I live in Minneapolis and in no way am a homer (see my posts on Rubio). But Towns/Wiggins/Lavine has to be the choice just on availability and durability doesnt it? Towns and Wiggins both have been incredibly durable during their seasons in the league. Towns is clearly the current best player among the 6 and still has the highest upside.
Lavine tearing his ACL does scare me as far as him tearing one of his ACLs again.
But Embid has only played in 30 games in 3 seasons. Simmons missed his entire first season. I feel like Fultz is getting a lot of undeserved hype. Him leading his college team to only 10 wins, especially as a point guard, holds a lot of water in my eyes.

To me the, Lavine/Towns/Wiggins is the clear choice.

How about Towns Butler Wiggins or Towns Butler Lavine?

I hope we can make it happen. Butler is really really good.

Wolves have way more to offer Chicago than Cleveland right? How rigged would it be if Butler went to Cleveland for some **** package?

Towns is the best player of that group by a decent margin so the wolves core.

Simmons and Fultz are still complete mysteries. Either or both could be great or terrible or anything in between.

Embiid's range is top 5 player to out of the league next year.

I'm a big Lavine guy. Going into last season, I liked him more than Wiggins because I thought he had a bigger upside. But after his injury I'm nervous about him going forward. I would snap call Lavine, Dunn and #7 for Butler. If you could find a way to have them throw Robin Lopez in the mix, even better

The Wolves just waived PEK. Its pretty sad that he couldnt stay healthy. When he was, he played like a beast and was the strongest player in the NBA.

Ibaka
Redick
Caldwell-Pope (restricted)
Gay (I dont really want him)
Tucker
Gibson
Amir Johnson
Patterson
J Green (this guy is good and there is a lot of talk on Canis about him, but he is restricted)
