- If they don't, presumably we got passed by the B1G Champion for the playoffs but land in the Rose Bowl ...against probably USC?
- Clemson > VT then we go to the Orange Bowl ...versus FSU?

I would much prefer to watch a Rose Bowl against USC than an Orange Bowl against FSU. Rose Bowl >>> Orange Bowl imo. B1G PAC12 matchup is historically appropriate. Plus the Rose Bowl is NYD as God intended instead of Friday night (blah). Guess I'm a spoiled sports fan but I'll get excited for a Rose Bowl. That's some good **** right there.

Watching Michigan football on a Friday night against the ACC, meh.

So I just wanted to make sure that I have my rooting interests down and that VT > Clemson gets UM a prayer for the playoffs, but also into a 'better' bowl regardless.

I don't know if it's contractual, but this is what people expect will happen. That would put UM in the Orange bowl if Clemson wins, so he's rooting for VT whether UM makes the playoffs or not.

Right. Simply put: if VT wins it's good news regardless of what the committee does because the Rose Bowl becomes the likely landing spot for us.

Playoffs are obviously ideal but looking remote. Rose Bowl would feel way better for me than the Orange Bowl assuming we don't hit the miracle out to get into the playoffs. I'd be very happy to play USC in the Rose Bowl. Classic matchup on NYD. Want that.

I wasn't being a smartass dipsht - I didn't know. That's why I said check it out. I could care less - it doesn't effect my team. The Rose Bowl has options if the Conf Champ is in the Playoff. But since that wont be the case this year, the third best team in the conference will be going to the Rose - maybe.
