play in game might be ideal for this team. Gives them a chance to get a tourney win. It's not like they're likely to go deep, sweet 16 would be a huge upset.

Honestly don't hate our draw one bit. We get an insanely weak Tulsa team in the play in game, and I don't think we match up terribly with Notre Dame or West Virginia.

This is practically the nut result for us. Im very happy right now.

Kinda puzzled by the Chatman transfer tbqh. Looked like the lightbulb was going on some toward the end of the season and was in line for some decent PT, now he has to sit a year if he stays in D1. I guess it could be PT motivated if he didn't want to be stuck behind Irvin again, but it's not like Irvin is Labron or anything and it'd be kind of nice if he didn't have to play 37 minutes a game every game.

4-0. Haven't played anyone real good yet, but solid thwackings of Marquette and SMU give hope that this won't be a third tier team in the B1G.

Actual defense is being played. This is not a typo.

Defense looked terrific the last two games. The rotations are the best I've seen under Beilein and DJ Wilson is an absolute monster defensively. The offense is going to be limited by the dumb **** Irvin constantly does, but the team has a chance to be pretty good this year. I'm very encouraged.

Yeah returning basically everyone from a bubble team last year, and DJ Wilson going from spot rotation player to pretty clearly the best player on the floor bodes very well.

Worst shooting night or worst shooting night EVER? Yeesh. This is ugly.

It seems to me that the divide is easy enough to articulate. There are those who are ok with Michigan having a largely perpetual mediocre basketball program because Michigan is a "football school" anyways, so who cares. Then there are those who perhaps pollyannaishly think Michigan should aspire to do better and have both programs reach elite/close to elite status. I assume all the Beilein supporters come from the former group, and I see where they are coming from and I even think there position is reasonable. I'm just too romantic to join them. I think we can do better. A lot better. It's time to move on. Let's go after a young up and comer who can recruit real talent. I will always appreciate what Beilein has done, but everybody has a shelf life.

I do think that cbb crootin is very flawed and it's hard for non traditional blue blood teams (someone not named UNC, Duke, KU, MSU, UK) probably forgetting a few teams.

But those teams just always get the big time talent, iirc, I don't follow college hoops that much, didn't belien recruit Devin booker super hard? Booker would have killed in his system but of course Cal makes a visit and he ends at UK.

Think JB time has run its course. Love the guy but yikes, year after year of mediocre.
