I've been bouncing back and forth over "buy" or "sell" with the trade deadline approaching. This division is so bad though, our chances of winning it this year are probably better than busting up the team for prospects and getting back here in 5-8 years.

So lets pick up an arm or two and go for the playoffs. The offense is looking to be good enough and the defense is always great. If we can squeak into the playoffs like we did in 2014, anything can happen.

yeah i was all in on selling and couldn't fathom us making a run after april but i think you have to go for it this year. the AL is too ****ty not to try to squeak in to the playoffs and our farm system is so bad that there really shouldn't be any untouchable players other than mondesi and i honestly wouldn't even care that much if we traded him at this point. In fact I kind of wish they were more willing to sell mondesi right now if him+ could get a guy like darvish. admittedly the 7 game winning streak is probably clouding my judgment more than it should considering we are still dogs to make the playoffs in all likelihood but i'm not ready for tomorrow

seems like the difference between the 25th best farm system and like the 30th is not gonna be enough to move up the window of contention at all we are gonna be at rock bottom for a while barring some miracle prospect findings and i think the fans understand that. potentially 3 1st round comp picks if hosmer, moose, cain all leave and make 50m+ will help set us up for competing again in 5 years possibly

speaking of miracle "prospects" coming up whit has been amazing for a guy who finally got a call at 27. leads the team in WAR this year and has 3.8 over last 162 games. i was gonna be absolutely thrilled at a league average player but he looks to be about a league average hitter with great baserunning and good defense/versatility which combined with his cost control is a very good player. i would say he is comparable to nunez who just got traded by the giants but he is 2 years younger and probably has better defense. nunez didn't get a whole lot in terms of prospects for him but he is a half season rental. whit doesn't even get to arbitration until 2020

Whit's 162 game spread. We basically got our Zobrist for less than 10% the price.

Yeah I agree - might as well go all in with this special group while you have them. A few guys at my gym are baseball nuts. Back in the Royals darkest days this spring - I told them "we're still only a few games back from the Indians, who cares about the Twins - don't count us out". They laughed. Well who's laughing now ****ers!

Meh. It's not like we were going undefeated the rest of the way. We were running good so we were due for some run bad.

I like picking up Melky. And as much as it pains me to say, we should sit Gordon and play him in left.

Guess Melky will bat 2 and Jorge and Gordon will platoon? Nice inning, boys.

I think we need some hitters. Haven't scored a run in 34 innings. Cleveland just owns our souls lately.

Tonight for history baby. Imagine setting the all time scoreless innings record in the AL with a DH and juiced ball?

If you can get outscored by 15 runs and still win the series then clearly anything is possible.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

It took 32 years but someone finally eclipsed Balboni's HR record. Hopefully he can get to 40, it's kind of embarrassing we're the only team with a HR in the 30s.

Brett's highest HR total was 30 in 1985.

Getting a little teary eyed watching the video tribute to the Royals after the game. We might not be seeing Moose, Hos, Esky, Cain, or Vargy in a Royals uniform again. No matter how you feel about any of those guys, we don't go to 2 WS and win one without them.

Hindsight is 20/20 and we probably should have traded for prospects, but at least for a while we had some hope to make the playoffs one more time.

Looking forward, we're going to have to start developing the next group of players. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 30 years to get back.
