rare good news on the royals front wtih that skoglund start. by all accounts won't be more than a back end starter at best but looked good v 9 tough righty tigers hitters. kinda goosebumpy watching him with the standing ovation he might never have a moment like that again in the majors

I doubt it's going to matter though. We still need to go on a run to make up ground, but I don't think this team has it in them. Just too many holes.

Back to .500. Team is playing soooo much better than earlier this year.

Rotation is solid. Hitting is returning. They finally figured out who to trust in the bullpen (Soria and Hererra still iffy). When we get Duffy and Karns back, we are going to be really tough to beat.

Finally made it to my first game of the season this afternoon. My sister's boyfriend has a hookup to pretty good seats - 15 rows up behind the Royals dugout. I went with my sister's foster kids with the tickets for the April 29th make up game. When we had our tickets scanned, we were told that the night game was the actual make up game and we couldn't get in. So back to the parking lot.

As we were on our way to the car, we were approached by scalpers wanting to buy our tickets or sell us theirs. I ended up trading tickets with them and paying $15 each for new seats.

So in the 3rd inning when we were down 5-1, one of the kids said that we should go. I told him we don't leave games early. And I reminded him every time we scored runs that's why not.

Good to see Moss and Gordo hit homers. We have the potential for a really potent offense. Duffy coming back early is great news. I hope he's not rushing though.
