Sick site, way higher quality than I was expecting. I'm pretty pumped for the season, but it's kinda hard to be too focused on the Jackets right now when there's so many sick games on opening weekend and the Jackets are playing South Carolina State.

I will say that I can't remember ever in my life being this shocked at how underrated one of my teams was though. I really don't think it's just me being a homer either. I don't see any way in the world how Georgia Tech should be outside of the Top 10 or how they can be less than co-favorites in the ACC with Va. Tech, but it seems like everyone has them in the 15-30 range and is acting like the Coastal race is between Miami and Virginia Tech. Just craziness IMO.

2 - Georgia Tech - 37
3 - Stanford - 38
t4 - Hawaii - 42
t4 - Brigham Young - 42

4th down attempts last season

1 - Air Force - 38
t2 - New Mexico - 32
t2 - Fresno State - 32
t2 - Texas Tech - 32
5 - Navy - 28
6 - Georgia Tech - 27

Well you lose your top 2 defensive players on a real crappy defense and employing an entirely new defense with a new DC. Not saying its justified, but I dont see it as being "shocking." Several ACC teams will be much better this year, so Tech is essentially gonna have to get better. Not sure how that happens, but I am willing to listen.

I think were a better team this year too, especially if groh can take the defense from worst thing in history to simply average. Not worried at all about Allen in the B back spot. Playing @VT on thursday is a really tough spot to get a result though, as is @UNC with them coming off a bye. To make it back to the ACCCG there will have to be a lot of teams beating up on each other imo.

Re: Defense

Playing Reid and Tarrant at CB and S respectively (instead of S and CB) is a huge upgrade.

Cooper Taylor being back is another big plus to a terrible secondary. And all the talk is of Isaiah Johnson being a monster back there as well.

D-line was bad last year, not sure it's going to be much better but it would be hard to be worse.

Re: Offense

Offense will be better this year than last. A back and B back are slammed with talent. The big question, as always, will be passing.

Re: Other ACC teams

They were all supposed to be better last year as well. The U hasn't proven anything, imo except that Jacory Harris can light up Jerrard Tarrant. VT lost a bunch of starters from a defense we handled okay last year. UNC was supposed to have an unbreakable defense last year too and we put up over 400 yards and 42 minutes of possession.

Im just already worried about a really sketchy personal foul or two being called at a key moment in blacksburg

Yeah, I agree with you for the most part, I am just saying that is not shocking that national pundits would shun GT. I am an Auburn fan and have been extremely impressed with what Paul Johnson has done with GT and have always rooted for them, bc that offense is super fun to watch. I do feel that the offense is kind of exploitable. I think Nesbitt has the talent to throw the ball deep and if they can balance a little better they will be much tougher.

I'm not trying to tard up your team thread, but Miami wasn't exactly known for anything defensively and you only put up 230 against them. You played UNC after 3 straight weeks of play. GT had a week and a half to prepare. With all the yards in the 1H, GT still could only manage 10pts. UNC had no o-line, and no competent QB, and WR's who were as inexperienced as it could get. Our starting TE had just been lost for the year the week before and outside of Little was the only offensive player with any experience. A combination of TO's, fumbles, and a **** UNC offense that did nothing but go 3 and out all game long made the final stats look a lot worse than it was. Of course they were gassed in the 2H. All that said GT was still clearly the better team. GL this year

I think most share the opinion that your schedule is brutal and having to play everybody of significance on the road or off of a bye week is a little bit much to ask out of GT. Schedule is brutal for you guys

Due to a missed FG and the refs ****ing up the clock on the last play so that we couldn't run a deserved play from your 6 yard line after a 33 yard completion.

Not buying the "we were too tired!" argument

First drive of the game:
9 plays, 88 yards

First drive of the 2nd half:
16 plays, 61 yards

Do some windsprints or learn how to tackle.
