Defense beastly today.

Gotta beat SF, then don't pull a tampa-sized-failure against Lions and we're in pretty decent shape.

I guess we can officially say that we overlooked Tampa last week. Huge loss for us, but they bounced back well, and maybe they can use that loss against Tampa, because up to this point we have lost to teams we should have and beat who we should have, and possibly that is how they looked at it as well being a little complacent going into that game!!!

If they can get through the Lions 7-4 I will say that's about where I thought they would be (7-4/8-3) at that point in the season. Regardless of how ugly it may be, all that matters is at worst they'd be tied for a wild card spot going into December.

Starting to get annoyed with MM, think his playcalling has been very poor this season. Understand the o-line is epically bad, but good coaches would adjust for that. He hasn't. I guess holding penalties > sacks.

Don't understand why all the TT hate really...it's not like this team isn't talented, just undisciplined. Moving up to draft Clay Matthews was genius. The only bad pick was Harrell, and he had said numerous times he took a risk knowing his health issues, but Harrell was really, really good at UT.

Ok I can understand your take on TT, but Harrell and Brohm you have to throw in there for bad draft picks. Brohm not even for the fact that he isn't on the team. I don't care if he was a legitimate starter, we didn't have a need for that spot and could have used that pick for another player.

I thought the Packers did need someone at QB, though. Going into the 2008 draft, Rodgers was the only QB on the roster, and, at the time, had no idea if he was going to pan out to be a decent player. There aren't too many veteran QB's in the NFL today that are willing to play the back up role, so TT had to at least get a body to play backup.

I loved the Brohm pick at the time. Brohm had a legit shot to be #1 Overall the year before, and he was still projected in the first round. There was huge concern over ARod being an injury-risk, as well.

I didn't like the Harrell pick, but looking back at the draft behind him, it's not like there was some gimme waiting for us. Obviously you could cherry-pick someone solid, but that's not fair.

The harrell pick was a reach but agree that there was no one really below him. I wanted the pack to take greg olsen but I thought 15 was prob too high.

Disagree about the brohm hate. It didn't work but I think long-term its a +ev pick. It was him or henne and I think brohm had more upside but oh well guess he made a bad judgment....

I guess I was the minority, others have said the same about Brohm but I never liked the pick, and this was before he ever stepped onto the practice field. Actually there are veteran QB's out there that are willing to play the back up role. David Carr, Leftwich, Chris Simms, Jeff Garcia, Jim Sorgi, just to name a few. I am not saying drafting QB is a bad thing. Later round picks are fine to find the diamond in the rough. Flynn is a good example. So is Hasslebeck, Brooks, Brunnel, and then trade them for good value.

Garcia would have been a good pick up after the week he was in Philly...dunno why TT didn't pull that one.

Then again, I think he just enjoys the "youngest team in the league" title

Sure, there are some veteran QB's out there, but you have to find one that isn't already on a team and then convince them to come to Green Bay. I mean, how many people, not drafted by Green Bay, would sign with the Packers to sit on the bench on 20 degree weather? Unless Green Bay is willing to pay significantly more money, which TT wouldn't and shouldn't do, most players will probably opt for living and playing in warmer temperatures.

Garcia said that he would only go to a team if he would be the starting QB. He won't accept a back-up role, I guess.

Trust me players, even veterans, will go where ever there is a paycheck. If they are currently not getting paid and can make 20K/game (league min) to sit the bench. I think they can tough out the 3+ hours of 20 degree weather. Plus, it isn't like it is that cold all year. And they have heaters ans **** right on the sideline.

And as for getting Garcia or some veteran QB to backup now, I think we don't need it. I like Flynn if Rodgers goes down. No need to get someone now. I was stating more of the time from last season's start.

I remember thinking while Brady Quinn was dropping that the Packers should take him. It was pretty much known that the Browns wanted him, so I figured the Packers could pick him and then trade him to Cleveland. The Harrell pick was very confusing.

Not good, but not as bad as the Harris injury. GB at least has players that can fill in adequately for Kampman. Harris out? Can't leave the backups on an island like GB could with Harris. That is gonna hurt.

2 huge blows on what should have been a good Sunday. Harris injury is definitely worse but Kampman obv still hurts. Defense was really playing well too, probably the best it has in quite some time.

A-rod is really, really good when he gets protection. Crazy how that works.

Please no Turkey Day fail on a short week after 2 great wins at home.

RE: the Harrell pick. TT has said on a few occasions that he knows it wasn't the popular pick, but in terms of talent, Harrell had the most of anyone in the draft at that point, but there was a huge (obv) risk with his injury concerns.

No kidding. I hope Bush's game gets really good really fast.

I noticed that Capers has been sending Woodson on more blitzes while leaving Harris on the island, so maybe we'll be seeing Bush/Williams blitzing with Woodson on the island? Pretty much the only logical thing I could see done, besides just playing conservatively, which always costs or almost costs GB games.

I'm sure they can pick up Ahmad Carrol pretty cheap.

Good question. The effect that Harris' loss will have on Woodson's usage will have deeper reaching effects on the D than just the dropoff from Harris to Bush/whoever replaces him.

Mother****er. I didn't get to watch the game, was just keeping tabs on it, and thought everything was pretty awesome. Come here to assess playoff picture, and massive buzzkill.

I see a lot of potential for Thanksgiving-fail, honestly. I think GB loses in a ******fest game or Rodgers lights them up for 4 TDs and GB wins by 30.

I don't think they will lose on Thanksgiving, Stafford should be out so we will have Culpepper to work against. The rest of the season is the issue. Losing Harris is going to be huge as far as coverage schemes go. Woodson's production could dropoff because of this.

Having to work against Culpepper would be much needed. The Lions didn't do anything against GB until Culpepper came out of the game and their 3rd string went in. Even without Harris, the D should be OK against the Lions, never know though.
