His take on McCarthy is pretty good. Giants won two Superbowls after finishing 9-7. Packers won one after finishing 10-6. So getting into the playoffs is the most important thing.

McCarthy definitely knows how to get a team ready to play. He does seem to still have the respect of the players. Signing a few more free agents to solidify the roster is probably a legitimate criticism of Thompson.

Of course his in game decision making is something that a lot of fans, including me, have criticized. Not going for two against the Cardinals was most definitely a mistake. The Seahawk NFC championship game meltdown is on him too. I guess McCarthy's record pretty much speaks for itself.

Barrington coming off a season ending injury maybe just didn't recover fully. Sitton was in the final year of his contract. Reading that Lang may move to LG and that Spriggs would play guard. Seems wrong but stranger things have happened. Wonder if Rodgers is ok with it.

Corners Josh Harkins and Makinton Dorleant and QB Joe Callahan apparently made the 53. Both those corners were undrafted FAs and both ran 4.4s. Safties Banjo, Brice and Evans made the team. Gunter made the team as well, with those three corners and three safties I'm not seeing how Micah Hyde makes the team (good riddance imo).

Happens every year, but how much must that suck to be told you made the team and then get cut the next day? I really hope they tell the player that he made it "for now," but he will likely be cut.

Is player to be cut's salary guaranteed at least because of being named to the 53, or does that count only once the first game starts? Definitely sucks.

Saw Sitton is visiting with the Bears. Saints up next if no deal is reached. They'll pony up to sign him.

Depends on the contract but pretty much no it is not guaranteed. Saw they cut Burks and picked up Pressley. Burks won't even make practice squad. Vikings told Pressley he wouldn't be on their practice squad. So Burks went from the getting an NFL paycheck to nothing. Pressley takes the roster spot that Burks had and goes from getting nothing to an NFL paycheck by taking the Burks roster spot. Brutal.

Only 3 ILBs on roster but Bradford is on the practice squad again. Saw Chiefs claimed Barrington. Packers obviously planning to not be in the base defense very much., lots of sub packages.

I have reserved to telling people, time will tell. I don't fully understand, although it is said that Sitton was a real ******* and not really a good locker room guy. Eh.

Like, on one hand, I get that losing Sitton sucks, on the other hand, McCarthy is probably gonna go back to calling max protect a lot ,with Jordy back, that it probably won't be that big of a deal.

In a vacuum, the more time I have to think about it, releasing him probably won't really matter too much... just the timing of it and the fact we could have kept him for one more year. But we have invested picks in younger guys, let's see what they can do now.
