About the trade talks: I would immediately trade Avila, no question. With JV it's a different story. He is past 30, so his career is on the decline. Nevertheless he is still a reliable starter and he should finish his career as a Tiger.

This talk about trading Fulmer is totally braindead. Who came up with this? He is 24 and the centerpiece of the rebuild. Not even Avila is stupid enough to let him go.

I was mad when the game started because I forgot to unload on KC against Zimm (same way I forgot to unload on Cleveland against Zimm a couple weeks ago). LOL me

Pelfrey was a gamble. As we all know by now, Avila likes to invest in first round picks who "underperformed" in the past. Let's not forget that Pelfrey is pretty decent from the wind-up. He just can't pitch from the stretch. His fastball drops from 95 to 93 and his control is about one foot off. Nobody was able to fix this issue in the past and that's where the gamble comes into play. Obviously our pitching coach couldn't help him either, so the project failed.

Trading talent like Fulmer is a totally different ballpark. He will be 30 at the end of the rebuild-cycle, so he will be at the peak of his game just in time. You simply don't trade your future World Series MVP. You can unload everyone age 28 and older, but never a guy like Fulmer.

I agree. It would be incredible ridiculous to trade fulmer now.

Yes, V-Mart will retire and Castellanos will move to DH, yes Kinsler will not stay around for much longer, but for an impact player like JD you got to acquire talent at least on AAA level and the deal should definitely include a pitcher. When I go to the D-Backs website, I immediately spot Jared Miller and Jimmi Sherfie. You got to pick up at least one of these guys.
