Yeah, that seems about it.
Lions wouldve been a better team by not participating at all in the 2002-2006 drafts. To me that is more impressive than going 0-16. Any casual college football viewer couldve hit on a few random names given 35 guesses

Yeah. I feel like the last bit of Millen stench has finally washed off. All the damage he did to the team with 7 years of pretty awful drafts is now in the past and this is 100% a different team. Quinn inherited a lump of mediocrity from Mayhew, but at least he has some talent at key positions to build around. A good offseason and they should worst be slight division underdogs to GB.

At least now we appear to have a GM with an eye for talent and are getting acceptable production from all of our draft picks.
Blind luck landed all these players.

I'm going to drink the kool-aid one more time and go with the lions big upset this week. Dont know how were going to do it i just want to believe. Nope not going to bet a dollar on it either. I just WANT it one time.

first game i'm gonna miss in years. (3? 5? 10?)

work circumstance dictates i fill a position i'm horrible at where the game's not being shown while neglecting the role i'm pretty awesome at and the game is being shown.

Anyway to DVR it and isolate yourself from the results until you can watch it? That is how I watch a lot of the games. At a minimum I DVR them and start watching about an hour into them so I can skip commercials and half time.

Team sucks and the refs hate us. Prepped for a boring draft and no good free agents.

Exactly the game I was expected. Stroked on both lines for 60 minutes.

Yes but our offseason last year was good. If they do it again they will get better. Got a good buttrape from the refs there but Stafford not good with that finger.

Team sucks. Franchise sucks. We're losers and will always be losers. It's just what we do.

Im really hammered drunk right now. Gonna write a wall of text about this team when I sober up. Short summary is they have some flaws and need some key improvements but overall I am calling this a marginally successful season.

Like that positive energy you giving off.

Hopefully the new GM can overcome the teams long term suck. I dont feel confident but hey you never know one day in are lifetime we might be a contender. Maybe.....

Also Ebron sucks hairy donkey balls and is a massive liability. We are probably stuck with him but for every good catch he has he has a key drop. We were a better offense with Pettigrew, or any average tight end.

Lol at any optimism.

This franchise will always suck until the Fords sell the team. Ineptitude starts at the top and creeps down from there.

The owners hire ****ty managers, the managers hire ****ty people, and it snowballs from there.

This team has, does, and always will suck as long as a member of the Ford family is using it as their personal cash cow.

That was year 3 of martha reign and she shytcanned the front office mid season last year and made a definitely not SOL hire. I really dont feel we have the same inept owners, and Quinn has been solid.

And in her first action as owner, she hired a Team President who said "I don't think I'm qualified to run any other football team, but I think I'm qualified to run this one"

This team and franchise are gonna make the same mistakes over and over. We rode a decent QB and a soft schedule to 9-7 and backed our way into the playoffs. We'll be lucky to be 6-10 next year.

Game @ DAL in 2013 was way worse than this one.

Produce a half decent football team that people actually want to watch and give the NFL a reason to rig it in your favor. It's not exactly like the NFL treasures the Green Bay Media market. They just realize that people around the country would rather tune in to something other than this slapdick franchise wasting air time every year by being the same pile of mediocre crap year over year.

Come on now.

Sometimes we're way worse than mediocre.

First off, that game was probably the worst they played all year on offense. On defense they were OK for a while, but you could see the eventual collapse coming as the offense kept going 3 and out. They would have struggled to beat the Browns playing like that. The garbage 4th and 1 play was pretty much the low point of the season. They had 3 losing their **** penalties for 45 yards. Sure, the non-facemask call on the PI was bad (I honestly thought the PI call was sketchy too, it was an underthrown ball and Quin had his head turned around, but was inconsequential since the catch was made). But even with a couple calls gone the other way they weren't winning that game.

I've got a lot of thoughts on what this team needs to do. Rather than type out a bible here I'll probably just spew out random posts here and there in this thread. First thing I want to talk about is the run game. Ours is terrible, plain and simple. Losing your #1 & #2 running backs is never good, but their inability to ever move the ball on the ground was pretty bad. Specifically the power run game. You saw GB come out a few times with 3 men in the backfield during a short yardage situation, everyone and their mother knew the run was coming, and they barreled forward for like 4 yards. Part of that is our crap LB core, but those types of plays don't even seem to be in our playbook. Just about every play was with a single back formation. Occasionally they would drop Ebron back there or some crap that isn't fooling anyone. They have a fullback that's doesn't even make the game day roster very often.

For as much as Jim Bob has done to bring some stability to the passing game, the run in his tenure has not been good. I think there's some talent now, especially if Abdullah comes back at 100% and the current o-line, but they seem to be playing below their talent level. I'd seriously consider trying to hire a run-game coordinator. It's not unheard of for teams to have 2 coordinators, one for run one for pass. Or at least bring in some specialist to revitalize the run. I feel like this offense is so close. In my opinion they are just a good run game and a complete TE from being a top 5 offense in the NFL.

Personnel wise I think they are OK at running back. Abdullah has been good, Riddick adds a dynamic element, and Zenner is a capable backup. Washington didn't play very well, quickly losing the #3 job to Zenner when both Abdullah and Riddick went down, but I can't imagine too many teams have a superstar at #4 on the depth chart. Although I wouldn't be too upset if they tried to upgrade at the position in the draft, with this seemingly being a deep draft at RB and gives them a solid #1 & #2, but I don't think it's the biggest of needs. I'd honestly probably look to pick up a 6 foot 220+ power running back in the mid to late rounds or in free agency, someone like a Matt Asiata. Then make a decision on what you do with Michael Burton. Either a FB is an integral part of your running game or you cut him, but right now he's a waste of a spot on the 53-man.
