It would not surprise me if they bring in about 4 new LBs to camp. 1 or 2 from the draft and 2 or more FAs.

Levy can go **** himself with his pension

Whitehead is below average.

Everyone is bad.

Would like to see at least 2 new starting LB for next year. It's our biggest need.

It's not a bad option really. If we are going into full blow it up mode.

But we aren't. Gonna pay him. We gonna suck foreve.

#9 isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Is he elite Brees/Godgers/Brady level? No, and he never will be. But based on his 2016 performance, he's at least at the same level as many of the other QB's in the league that have played in Super Bowls. Eli Manning/Flacco/Kaepernick/Roethlisberger/Newton/Palmer. Those are all good QB's playing on great teams that have lead their teams to the Super Bowl. Stafford can be that guy. There's not much more to say about him other than that. The finger was obviously an issue at the end.

One of the things that made them a better team this year was production from rookies. I did a breakdown of the draft picks after the draft last year. Now let's look at how they did on the field.

1. Taylor Decker. Played every snap on offense. We got exactly what we needed out of him. He struggled a bit early, but got better as the year went on. He was considered a marginal pass blocker but in my opinion he did a fantastic job. We need more 1st round picks like him.

2. A'Shawn Robinson. Worked his way into a starting role. Big body that stuffs the run in the middle of the line. Not an elite pass rusher, which was an issue on defense this year, but he also got better as the year went on and is likely to be a starter at DT for years to come.

3. Graham Glasgow. Also worked his way into a starting role. Looks better than last years 1st rounder in Tomlinson. Another solid pick who is likely to start at either Center or Guard next year.

4. Miles Killebrew. Added some much needed depth to the secondary, and did his job well when he was on the field. I'm not sure if he'll be capable of taking on a starting role at SS next year, but he was one of the better backups in the secondary.

5. Joe Dahl. Started off the season as a regular on the game day cut list down to 46, but saw some action late as injuries started affecting the O Line. Likely to compete for a starting guard spot next year if Tomlinson continues to struggle or Warford leaves. Looking like this might have been a good pick.

6. Antwione Williams. If ever we needed a rookie to step up big this was it, and he just plain couldn't. Struggled a bit with injuries, but was part of the reason they were so bad at LB this year. He got some starting time early on when Levy went down, but by the end of the year was a healthy scratch. Not good for his future.

7. Jake Rudock. Did OK in preseason, and they liked him enough to promote him to the 53 man after someone tried to poach him off the practice squad. May end up as #2 next year.

8. Anthony Zettel. Filled in nicely early on, and actually got some good time at DE late in the season. Likely to compete for more rotation time next year. Made the heads up play of the season in the Philly game when he saved the fumble from going out of bounds at the end.

9. Jimmy Landes. IR'd in preseason. Probably the long snapper next year, but whatever.

10. Dwayne Washington. Started the season #3 on the RB depth chart and was also the go to short yardage back. Didn't do particularly well in short yardage situations. Became the starter when Abdullah and Riddick went down, and promptly lost the starting job to Zenner. I think Zenner is better, and really don't have much use for this guy. Maybe he stays as the #4 but he's going to fighting for a spot in camp next year.

I guess that's why I have faith in this team. Quinn's first draft was pretty good by most metrics. He's gotten 3 starters out of it, possibly more next season. The early round picks don't appear to be busts. The only busts so far look like Williams and Washington, and as 5th and 7th rounders, weren't expected to do much. This team was just devoid of so much talent that, despite their 7-9 2015 record, one offseason just wasn't quite enough. If they have another good offseason like that one, they should be much much improved.

wowow. lang signing is huge. decker/glasgow/swanson/lang/wagner is a legit top 5 OL. need abdullah to stay healthy and pick up another RB and the offense could be scary good.

Two straight years Quinn picks a game 1 starter in the first round. I can get used to this.

Millen trades up to 14 to pick Peppers all day in this draft.

Millen either trades up for the TE who fell or drafts the Alabama linebacker who got kicked out of the combine. Bama linebacker would obv be in a prison 2 seasons later.

I'm happy with the pick. Thats the guy who a couple mocks i seen had us drafting.

We needed a starting LB in round one and we got one. Looking forward to the rest.

Seeing Wormley mocked to use in a couple places. Hes ok i wouldnt hate it or anything but I'd love to see another Michigan dude in J.Lewis fall to us somehow. Espn has him at 8 currently so doubt it happens but man that dude can play and would be a great addition next to Slay. As long as we keep with defense I'll be happy.

reading mlive comments for the first time was a bad decision.

happy w/ draft so far. prob got 3 game 1 starters assuming boldin won't be back. some combination of S/DE/RB next 3 picks would be ideal.

All three picks seem like picks we should make.

Haven't seen any LOLions regarding the draft.

Hello guys! I'm a young Detroit Lions fan from Switzerland and I'm visiting the US in September. I wanted to buy tickets for the opening game against the Cardinals the 10th. I wanted to use NFL Ticket Exchange but you can't buy anything if you are from Europe. Does anyone has any advice on the best way to find tickets from Europe ? Thanks in advance

Levy’s career might be over, though he told ESPN he has rehabbed in Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan since his second knee surgery and hopes to try to play again.
