The last time we beat them, iirc, was when the Colts had basically cashed it in.. and Griffin went off for like 150 yards.

IND -7 is the line. Not surprising.

You're correct, the last time was 2004 and it was week 17 and the Colts were done for the season. However, the year before they went there in week 16 and beat them outright with the Colts fighting for the AFC South title. Not that any of this matters I guess, I didn't realize it was that long ago. It would be pretty sweet to beat them, however, especially with the Chargers playing a losable game against Dallas (though Romo will probably just give it away somehow).

This Colts team is beatable. What gives me hope is that McDaniels will know the Colts really well from having to gameplan against them every year in New England. This could be a repeat of the Pats game, hang tough and gut out a win late.

Denver has absolutely nothing to lose, so hopefully we go out there and play like it, maybe sneak out of there with a win.

Ya, your second sentence is key. Expectations are very low from everyone for this game.. if we lose.. we lost to the Colts.. big surprise.

But I can definitely see us being competitive and sneaking out a win.. and that win would be huge.

man i hated mcdaniels at the start of the season for trading cutler and not going in the right direction with the draft picks he got (imo) but that quote alone has made me like him. A+ title change

I was completely wrong on McDaniels.

I was so down on him. Basically felt like we were conceding the next few years of the franchise.

It really feels great to have an awesome coach, doesn't it? I bet the Broncos at least cover the spread if not win outright. I agree, this Colts team can be beaten.

yea mcdaniels keeps proving himself over and over- i'll never agree w that cutluhhh trade but glad were performing so well this year- oh and we have the bears pick this year right? if so thats gonna be like in the 6-12 range? we should draft a QB right?

as for indy this sunday i dont think we have a great great chance- manning certainly has shown he knows how to pick us apart. who knows maybe we can play tough D hang close and luckbox a lategame situation

As far as next years draft it'll be interesting. We do have Chicago's pick.

I don't know if there is gonna be value in the 8-12 range for a QB.

Will be interesting to see how some mocks play out.

Also will depend a lot on what Orton does. If he gets 5 years/50 million somewhere we'll surely let him go.

If we could trade down for a Bradford type, while signing Orton for a year or two.. would be awesome.

Call me crazy, but I like Orton. He just seems to win, and I don't feel too uneasy when he drops back like I did with Jake Plummer, even when Plummer had the 13-3 season. I still seemed to think "so when's the next pick?" when Plummer dropped back that year. This year, I just have confidence that Orton will complete the pass. If Orton can make it to the playoffs, I'd keep him for another 2 seasons and possibly draft somebody in the 2nd or 3rd round as an insurance policy, because God knows Chris Simms isn't one. I don't think there is much QB value this year in the high rounds, so it will be better to wait. If worse comes to worse, waiting another year before drafting the heir apparent won't hurt anything.

Depends.. local radio is talking about how they think Orton will get a 5 year/50 million somewhere.. and Denver won't pay that type of long contract for him.

Lot can happen.

So Orton is a free agent after this year? I had the impression for some reason he still had another year. If he leaves, the QB situation takes a turn for the worst.

Yes, this is the last year of Orton's contract.

seems absurd to like orton bc he just wins games and hate cutler, seeing as cutler literally won games for us whereas orton has a defense and a run game this year

not that orton hasnt been surprisingly consistent/productive

I like Orton because he's consistent, productive and wins games. It would have been fun to see what Cutler could have done with a defense and a running game, but at this point screw that crybaby.

it wouldnt surprise me if they go hard for clausen in the draft due to the weis/mcdaniels connection

I think McDaniels believes he can find a QB in later rounds to work in his system. also I wonder if McDaniels doesn't want a 1st round QB in a sense given all the guys he's coached had to earn it/be hungry...Brady, Cassel, Orton etc. Plus this is going to be a super deep draft.

Everybody hates Cutler cuz he is a whiny pouter who doesn't seem to care not cuz he didn't win games.

I think people are getting a bit hopefully in regards to the Indy game. I'll be rooting for an upset but Indy is 12-0 and we're 8-4 for a reason.

Absent a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, Orton will be a restricted free agent in March 2010, and the Broncos will be able to retain his rights with a one-year contract offer in the range of $3 million.

This seems a little unrealistic to me, but would definitely be a natural fit.

Seems to make sense, but they're going to have to trade up to do so and whoever is sitting at 3-5 (assuming CLE and DET are 1-2) might want to take Clausen anyway. They'll probably just wait until the 2nd-3rd round and try to find a guy.

Assuming this is correct, seems to me like it's a win-win to re-sign him.

The Griffin game was 2003, which was a meaningful game that Manning played throughout. He looked beastly that day, crazy to look back and realize that game was 20% of his career rushing yardage.
Two weeks later Manning dropped a perfect passer rating and 5 TDs. Most memorable play was when 3 Broncos defenders started arguing about who was supposed to Cover Marvin Harrison, and they forgot to touch him while he was laying on the turf and he got up and ran for the TD.

The 2004 game The Colts had nothing to play for and Denver had to win to get in. Manning played one series then went to the bench.
Hilariously, the Denver players talked **** after the game, apparently oblivious to the fact that Manning wasn't playing.
Manning served up some of the most deserved comeuppance ever. It was a thing of beauty.

All of that is ancient history though, Denver has had almost a complete turnover since then.

w/e- he hasn't missed a game his whole career and stands in the pocket taking hit after hit

also they won 8 games last year with the 2nd worst defense in nfl history pretty much bc of him and the offense and the defense gave up an avg of 37.xxx ppg in the last 3 games to collapse- id be pretty pissed too

seems youve made up your mind but i dont really think you have any reason/valid argument to say "he doesnt care" just like i have no reason/valid argument to say hes this great team leader who wills his team to win games

over this tho, go broncos!
