It was a given the Eagles would be awful either way. Seeing a division rival unload trash for a 1st-plus is never good news. Especially when they were short that 2017 pick for trading up for Bradford's replacement. And they save $11m in the process.

In the end if Dak works out to be a top 15 QB, I won't care. That would be the single biggest coup ever for us.

Definitely tapping the brakes on him a little bit. He's still a rookie with no real game experience, and he's not an elite prospect type. Anything can happen especially with a great line + sick RB depth + Dez + Witten out there with him.

Still there's a pretty strong chance he struggles and Mark Sanchez will take over. That's not necessarily a knock on Dak, many of the HOF and HOF-bound QBs didn't look so great in their first season. But maybe he can bus-drive with this crew and keep them at .500 or a little better.

Think we'll all be extremely happy to see Romo return when that time comes.

If Dak is legit but needs time, let me be the first one to be pumped about a top 12-15 pick in the upcoming draft.

The Romo ticking clock was always the big problem here. The team outside of Romo-Witten-Scandrick is crazy young. So if we're able to be bad for 1-2 years and then go full Dak+Zeke+that line, that would be the nuts.

I see this year as a freeroll now coming into this draft class. It would be about finding a new TE1, and boosting that D. Also a WR2 couldn't hurt.

I certainly think it's cool we might have hit 'something' with Dak, but there is still virtually no reason to be anything more than marginally excited.

I honestly am so scared of him coming in, being...not horrible. Getting overrated by everyone. Then Romo comes back for a while so we forget he wasn't good. And then we waste another 1-2 years jacking around with a below average QB after Romo is gone.

Kind of surprised by some of the guys we didn't claim on waivers, and perhaps in favor of keeping two fullbacks on the roster. I guess they know what they're doing, but there were some cuts I'd be all over on other teams on the D side of the ball. 6 guys in the backfield when you draft Zeke is peculiar.

Imho this is the last year of patience for me for Escobar. They must also have decent confidence in Swaim because some ok TE options were floating out there on waivers.
