Browns fire Ray Horton extend an offer to Greg Williams. Williams has traditionally coached 4-3 base defenses. Might indicate that the Browns won't pick Garrett since Garrett seems to fit best as an OLB in a 3-4.

Gregg Williams accepts the job.

Hamilton might be out as OC.

Hiring really incompetent coordinators for the tank year to take the fall is pretty ingenious.

I've been reading Cleveland.com and getting one of the sports radio feeds. It is amazing how many in the media (not all) are willing to over pay for Garoppolo. Mary Kay Cabot seems to be ok with trading the #1 pick in the draft for Garoppolo. She isn't the only media type with that view. To be fair a few of media folks have reasonable perspectives.

Garoppolo has one year left on his contract. No GM would consider paying a big price for him without locking up his services in a multiyear deal. Garoppolo is a prospect with some actual NFL experience that should make his evaluation less risky but there is still a lot of risk. Also, I have a hard time believing a sane GM would give up one of the 1st 3 picks in the draft for him essentially putting their job on the line.

How can you be so bad for so long? It's so unlikely. Football won't have tackling anymore by the time we ever ship

Not a Browns fan, and maybe I am missing something, but why don't you guys just buy a QB this off-season? You have plenty of cap space, just sign Cousins or Jimmy G to a huge deal and draft BAPs. Ravens sucks, Bengals are meh and who knows how long Big Rape has left?

the jimmy G chatter should be loud this offseason assuming he doesn't get the franchise tag

Yes the JimmyG chatter will definitely pick up. That would be a good option for the Browns but would JimmyG want to play for Cleveland? Yep the Browns have to money to make it happen. I don't think the Pats will tag JimmyG unless Brady retires which I suppose is unlikely. Forget about Cousins it's the Skins or 49ers.

Kizer is a project player, Jackson probably won't be coaching in Cleveland next year so pretty sure not much of a future for Kizer with the Browns. If I was Haslem I'd take away at least some of Sashi Brown's control over the roster by hiring what in effect would be a GM. The idea is to have a guy that has more experience than Brown in evaluating talent. One could argue that the Browns already have been such people on the staff. I like a lot of the things Sashi has done. The passing on Carson Wentz is explainable, a new front office etc. Passing on Watson? Well prior to the draft there was all kinds of talk that none of the QBs was 1st round talent including Watson. So I think a lot of the Cleveland media and fans are using 20-20 hindsight.

I would also tell Hue Jackson to hire an offensive coordinator or hit the road. I would be hoping that Jackson hit the road. He seems like a nice and decent person but appears to be a lousy head coach to me. I wouldn't fire him outright because I think Haslem has burned through too many people too fast and it would be a really bad look. It would discourage people even more so from coming to Cleveland.

I've said it from the start. THE HASLAMS ARE THE PROBLEM. Go back to Knoxville and fix that mess instead you ****ing scam artists.

Hue might be good, who ****ing knows? THE PLAN WAS TO TANK AND EVERYONE WAS ON-BOARD.

Everyone hates on the player evaluation (Wentz, Watson, etc). But data shows that having more picks is better because evaluation is massively flawed. Sashi was TOO GOOD AT TANKING.

"Sorry, you executed your plan too well and you must go. I hope you're not bitter as the next exec who replaces you uses all of the capital you have acquired while downplaying the significance of starting with that capital. But whatcha gonna do? #GottaClickThoseButtons!" - THE ****ING INCOMPETENTS IN CHARGE

Dorsey seems like making the best of a bad situation. Was really worried they would bring in Peyton Manning.

Still seems crazy committing to Hue next year.

I don't get excited one way or the other about any of this ****. Carmen policy was supposed to be god. Even if he's successful, it could just be a combo of sashis work and luck. Wish him the best tho!
