i don't like the move. i'd rather they have gambled on someone like Montgomery who would be under many years of team control rather than letting him go for a 1 year rental.

don't quite get why Hendricks isn't our number 3 and Lackey isn't our 5th but whatever, as long as Hendricks doesn't care.

From what I read is that it's purely based on opening series. Lackey has been good vs Cardinals and Joe just wanted him in there against them.

Ready to watch the World Champions play some baseball!

Lineup should be even stronger than last year with Schwarber & Contreras for a whole season and all the other young guys having another year of experience. And Heyward surely can't be any worse right? Not expecting much, but would be incredible if he could bounce back strong too.

Only concern for me would be some regression on the pitching side, where they had lots of guys have great years last year and were relatively injury-free. Hopefully they can do that again, but I wouldn't count on it being such smooth sailing.
